Place was clean. Only good part from here was the sweet tea. Nothing wrong with HEB potato salad and cheap HEB bread as I sometimes buy it for my home. But when you are going out to eat and paying almost $20 something for a plate you expect homemade sides. Potato salad is from HEB and so is the bread it was dry and hard. Now the bbq is the worst we’ve had, brisket was tender and rubbery lacked in flavor, sausage was dry and had an off taste, chicken was dry no flavor. Bbq sauce was a hard no, spicy sauce is tabasco sauce and something sweet, the other is very sweet and tangy. The sweet tea was great though.

I’m from Arcola, TX. This place has the small town vibe & great 90s country music playing. I felt at home, the staff was great and small town courteous & welcoming and the food get a 10 out of 10.
My wife and I have found our new Barbecue restaurant.
My wife got her favorite marbled brisket and cream corn and I had my favorite stuffed spud with pulled pork. The banana pudding is top shelf and the sweet potato casserole is 2nd to none.
If you enjoy Texas barbecue, this is a great place to get some vittles, take off your hat, ask God to bless the food, the hands that prepared it, and the means to pay for it.

First Time!
All the meats were lean, flavorful, and tender.
The mac n cheese, and creamed corn were warm, and cheesy. This platter was just the right amount for two to share. The staff was attentive, and very kind. The restaurant was clean, and well stocked. Arriving we were taken care of promptly, we didn’t have a wait, we picked our seating, and within 20 minutes we had our food. There is plenty of indoor dining. They have an area for separate parties. There is plenty of in gate, and well lite parking. As a barbecue lover I shall be back.

I was in the area ans felt hungry, it was 0230 in the afternoon. I placed my order and was met at my table by the most courteous young adults. My plasticware, along with napkin bbq sauce and food were brought to my table.
Now to the food. When I arrived, again at 0230 pm, the place is open till 8 pm, I was informed that they were out of ribs, turkey, nachos and a couple of other items. I have since read several other reviews where people mentioned this same issue, the place running out of food. Of course it could be that the food is so good, you need to get here early to be able to enjoy whatever you want. Or someone is not entirely accurate as to how much to prepare for the day.
I had a perfectly tender and moist brisket, along with finger licking chicken, and mouth watering sausage.
They also make some very delicious brisket beans and cream corn.
Overall, this was a good experience complimented by the great service.
Now I only wish I could have tasted the ribs.

Been eyeing this new bbq place since it opened for the past 7 months located off sw military. Bar b q republic is a mom and pop bbq place . I was greeted by the owner Oscar and his employee at the front very welcoming and educated me on they’re menu,special and even was polite to inform me they out of the turkey and ribs but that’s a good thing must mean they absolutely delicious. Today for my first time I got the sampler comes with brisket ,sausage ,pulled pork ,chicken and turkey . They out of turkey so they asked if I like more chicken or sausage. Went with the chicken can’t go wrong with chicken. Also got potato salad and the not your mommas nachos comes with queso ,beans and ur choice of protein. Can ask for the other stuff to be on the side such as the sour cream, pickle de Gallo,jalapeños. For drinks they have Pepsi products on fountain . Lemonade ,fruit punch and grape kool aid . Sweet and unsweet tea. They also have deserts such as banana pudding and trust me I was tempted to buy it for $4 fresh made also. I need to say the house bbq sauce was so good I was hopeing they sell em in bottles they have regular and spicy . The regular is a nice balance taste not too sweet just the right amount to taste the seasoning. The spicy was also my favorite it had a this one kick in the back of your throat followed by that tasty house flavor to enjoy it for even people who don’t like spicy . In the middle of the meal the owner came out and gave me and my mom 2 free jalapeno bacon wraps that have brisket was as spicy as jalapeno wraps come enjoyble . The thing that stood out for me was the brisket so tender that even the fat was tasty loved how it just fell apart in my mouth ,easy to chew so good my mom who a picky Easter eat most of sampler . The pulled back pork was soft and as tasty as pulled pork comes it pars excellent with the house bbq sauce . The sausage was excellent I’m not a big sausage lover but this stuff I could t put down I was regretting not getting more sausage and again the bbq tasted so good with the sausage and chicken. The chicken was not dry it was enjoyable from the skin to the meat itself . Smoked and ready to pull apart with ur hands perfect for makeing a little sandwich with the bread that comes with ur plate . Now for the nachos I got very full from the player so I was only able to taste a few . Most noticeable of this was the pickled red onions and pickles the onions are my favorite reminds me of those tasty pickled items u get at country stores like the quail eggs and garlics. I wanted to scarf those onions down . The nachos are pretty huge we got the half order which for comparison it’s half of a half order from chachos nachos . The queso was nicely blended into the chips the amount of chicken was thick and tender I probably eat the rest laster had to take it to go and yes I took some sauces to go as well. Nice atmosphere,extremely friendly and great service. Might I add the most fastest services too I kid u not we paid. Got our drinks at the fountain and the buzzer went off right as I was about to sit! Amazing speed. Spent about $50 2 drinks, pint of potato salad, half order of nachos , sampler .tasted like I got my moneys worth . They do have sandwiches and kid meals to . Will I visit again? Yes I will . I hope to see this place bloom . The owner also informed me he wants this to be a place for the community . Mom and pop place and community with great food and service it just keeps getting better. I visited your location at approximately 4:30 and ordered the full order of nachos. Upon inspection, I found the nachos to be lacking in cheese. I requested additional cheese from the cashier, but was asked to pay for it. Given the insufficient cheese, I declined to pay. The cashier responded with ‘it is what it is.’ The cheese that was provided was cold, and the brisket was also cold. The dish was mostly chips with little cheese and meat. Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy the product despite spending a significant amount of money.

Cool place. The barbecue is okay, just okay. Pretty mediocre. Far from the best but it’s smoked meat and I love smoked meat. Everything was cooked correctly as far as tenderness. That was on point for sure. If they really want to turn some heads they need to work on their seasonings. If I’m hungry I’ll stop back in. It’s 1 notch above Bill Miller’s.

This was our first time here and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious..the brisket so tender. And lots of drink options. Even Kool Aid! I haven’t had that with BBQ since forever! Service was great! Always getting checked on to see if we need anything. We even ordered some food to go! Will definitely be coming back!

Don’t let this video trick you.. it looks phenomenal… but it taste OK.. for $18.99… I don’t think it’s worth it. They just loaded with beans, pico de gallo, and sour cream… I would say if we got a half a cup of chopped brisket… are you gonna put no brisket on the nachos that’s so crazy to me… it was a big quantity, but it was just more chips than anything… I’m really disappointed in this restaurant. I’d rather go to Rudy’s and eat better…. When I say that one big positive thing is that pumpkin cheese cheesecake was delicious…. And the mac & cheese was OK.
