I want to start by saying the staff was extremely pleasant and the ambiance was festive and fun. It’s a great spot to sit down and enjoy a meal.
The torta was huge — seriously massive (check the photo, I used my whole forearm for scale ). The bread itself was probably the best torta bread I’ve ever had — super fresh and flavorful.
That said, the filling portions felt a bit light compared to the size of the bread, and the price was a few dollars higher than similar tortas I’ve had elsewhere. I also tried the gordita, but the shell was pretty flimsy and fell apart while eating, which made it tough to enjoy.
Overall, it’s a fun place with great vibes and friendly service, and I’m glad I tried it. With so many options in the area, the portion-to-price ratio might keep me from returning regularly, but it’s definitely worth checking out at least once.

This was my first time here, and I absolutely 100% will be coming back to try more than just the tacos. This was the best food I have had in a long time. And to make it even better, every single one of the staff was friendly and welcoming. I got 3 spicy pork tacos for lunch, and it was $12, I will definitely be making the 40 minute drive from home just to eat here more.

If you like authentic Mexican food, this is your place! I loved them when they were La Hausteca on Plainfield! In this new location, I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The guacamole was out of this world good. I am so glad you are back!!

This is an amazing hidden residential gem for authentic Mexican cuisine (don’t let the name fool you as this is a full fledged yet unimposing restaurant) just north of Grand Rapids and a must go to when here or passing through to places north. I had the chicken and beef tacos with fresh made salsa Verde along with their guacamole with corn chips which were amazing. I’d imagine their fajitas, enchiladas, chicken many other entree fare could also be this delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous. As this appears to also be a small family business, the chef bringing the food to our table was a nice change of pace. Everything was fresh and hot. This is definitely worth making the trip a exit or two north of the city

Super nice place, nice people, nice decor, nice atmosphere. The food was GREAT! We ordered takeout getting steak/chicken taco dinner and chicken mole. The chicken and steak were super fresh and really really good. Their refried beans are like, indescribably tasty.
The mole… you will be warned it is spicy. It is spicy. But it’s so so so so so so so so so so good. As proof here is my platter, licked utterly clean :^)
Wonderful! A staple of the neighborhood! If you’re thinking “oh I should go try them out sometime”, no. Not “sometime”. Go tonight, go tomorrow for lunch. You’ll fall in love.
Thanks!!

I decided to come here for some tacos. I remember this place being a weird little coffee shop that had some janky stuff going on. Didn’t really matter, i shrugged. Came here with my 4 children, Francine, Uriah, Charlotte, and Kristine. We went in, and sat down. Jose was very nice and took our order. But then he asked me if i loved my children. I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about but i like dark humor and being a weirdo and my kids can’t even talk yet so i said “No.” He then said “Very well” and proceeded to pick up Charlotte and Uriah. i asked “what are you doing?” and he told me to get the other ones and follow him. I did. We went into the basement where there was a giant meat blender thing and maybe a dozen little kids. He politely asked me to set the children down, so i did. Manners are nice. I then watched him demonstrate how they make taco meat. I went back to my seat and they brought me my Mega Yum Yum Taco Blast Set with my Diet Coke. 10/10 food, although i did find a tooth in my taco. Would come here again.
