Overall would highly recommend Codmother’s if you’re in the Fisherman’s Wharf area and are looking for a nice platter of fish and chips
Nothing fancy to look at, but the fish & chips were great. Cooked to order, piping hot, crispy batter, golden brown chips. Great customer service, friendly staff. Cannot fault our meal.
Menu looked nice, but fish was overcooked (borderline rubbery), which is a shame because the crust was super crispy!
Staff looks and sound a bit soulless. I guess pay your staff better?
1. The fish and chips have a very crispy batter and the fish is decently moist and tasty
2. Fries were generous and crisp
3. Calamari was very well done with a thin batter and tender pieces of squid
4. The clam chowder was surprisingly good with enough ingredients and texture to make it a meal by itself. You have a choice of a bread or cup bowl
Will a bill of USD $60, it would equate to a meal in a regular restaurant so I would not say it’s cheap. However the portion size and taste made up for it. I only ate here as my hotel is just next to it.
But…The Wharf area is notorious for car break-ins so whenever I go down there I always take littletooth with me to sit in the front seat with all the windows down to let the hoodlums know to keep back, because once he bites into something or someone he won’t let go.
I’ve had fish and chips all over the Pacific Northwest from Skagway down to San Diego, and believe me…The Codmother Fish &Chips are the best! ☆☆☆☆☆
