VIOLÍ was initially inspired by DineAmic Hospitality Partners, David Rekhson and Lucas Stoioff’s, travels throughout Greece, where they acquired a newfound appreciation for the natural Greek lifestyle. Following their trip, the hospitality group opened LÝRA in West Loop’s Fulton Market neighborhood and now brings the Greek Cuisine and world renowned superstar Chef Partner Athinagoras Kostakos to the Western Suburbs.

Very friendly. Darwin was my waiter and he explained the menu well, checked in during my meal, and made the dinner experience lovely. Even got a visit from the manager as a touch base who seemed genuinely interested in my experience. Food was delicious! Octopus is my favorite – this one melts in your mouth! The lamb souvlaki was perfectly cooked as well. Finished off with the orange cake – the lemon zest crunch was a perfect finish and the Greek yogurt ice cream complimented it well. Highly recommend!

Darwin is the BEST. This place is so good that I would never trust anyone who didn’t give a 5 star review. Incredible smoked old fashioneds, amazing food, great service & atmosphere. Highly recommend the deconstructed pastitsio (short rib black truffle pasta). Also loved the chicken thigh souvlaki. So glad we finally came here & can’t wait to be back. One of my new favorite spots as a big foodie.

I had mixed feelings about my visit to Violi Oakbrook. This was my first time here, and we had a reservation for our anniversary. We were seated right away, and the restaurant has a lively, beautiful atmosphere. It can get a little loud, but there were big groups, so that’s understandable.
We were greeted by our server with two small glasses of prosecco, which she made it seem like a complimentary gesture for our special occasion. Unfortunately, we were charged for them even though we didn’t order them.
For food, we started with calamari and oysters—both were good, no complaints. For mains, we had pasta and lamb chops, which were cooked well and tasted good, though nothing extraordinary. The eggplant salata that came with the lamb chops wasn’t to my taste, but the pastitsio was well-cooked. Overall, the food was solid but not standout.
Our server was very nice, informative, and helpful when taking our order. However, she only checked on us once and refilled water once, which wasn’t a big deal but could be a concern for others. When it came to paying, I asked for a paper check, but the server pushed for online payment, which comes with fees, and didn’t really give us an option to pay in person. It wasn’t a huge issue, but better transparency about hidden fees would have been appreciated.
Overall, Violi Oakbrook is not a bad place, but it’s not somewhere I’d go out of my way to return to.

This has been our go to place for over a few years. Each time we are met with excellent service, excellent food and amazing atmosphere. Today, we received service from Mr Todd and our busser was Amani. They were both absolutely amazing, kind and humorous. Everything was perfectly timed, served beautifully and elegantly. If I can request them everytime, I definitely will!

Had an amazing time at Violi celebrating my cousin’s birthday. We flew all the way from Florida and chose to celebrate at Violi, turned out to be the best choice. Loved the sparklers highlight. Our servers Fotini and Fabio were amazing, they went above and beyond to ensure that we had a wonderful time. Thank you again for a wonderful and memorable experience.

The atmosphere was enhanced by the beautiful light show, which provided a lovely backdrop. The cocktails were indeed amazing, offering a delightful range of flavors. We appreciated the attentive service of our waitress throughout the evening. The lamb was cooked to perfection, showcasing the chef’s skill. Ultimately, the combination of food, drinks, and service created a memorable experience. The sight of the ceiling with red flowers and green foliage is truly a magnificent display. In the evening this restaurant might not be suitable for children. It’s geared towards adults seeking a specific experience. Being in the company of the one you love adds an extra layer of magic to the evening. Hope you enjoy it as well!

Loved this place, the ambiance was amazing and the food was so good. Fish was top notch but all the food we tried was great. Hector was incredible his positive attitude and attention tied everything together you can tell he loves his job and makes everyone else enjoy it as well. Truly above and beyond service!

I really wanted to luv this place but a few things fell short during this meal. Its not cheap to eat here and the cost does not meet the quality I was expecting. RH Rooftop prices but not the same quality and not same ambiance, though it was very pleasant.
Started with the lemon chicken rice soup (avgolemono soup) which was really nice. The citrusy tang made this soup very flavorful but I felt it was such a small portion, it should at least be a bowl size.
The crispy zucchini & eggplant was a huge disappointment. Not only was it NOT crispy (was soggy) but lacked flavor and overall was overpriced for the ingredients. May have been sitting out too long in the pass because it was very busy for a Thursday night in Oakbrook. Definitely skip this appetizer.
They did make it up with really delicious entrees.
The deconstructed pastitsio was wonderful. The creamy béchamel sauce over pasta and the soft meat and fatty short rib ragu complimented the dish. The earthy black truffle notes added a punctuation to the meal.
Lastly, the grilled lamb chops was very tasty!! Four good sized lollipop chops seasoned with sumac and smoked salt was nicely rubbed into the char.
Overall, still had a gratifying experience but the pricing seemed a bit excessive.
The service was a bit slow, but staff was cordial and accommodating due to being 2 hours late on the reservation.

I had a late Valentine’s Day celebration here with my girlfriend and Darwin made it a very special experience with a sparkler display, a personalized desert, and even a card! A very memorable experience and I will definitely come back. Food was excellent as well!
