Pleasantly Pleased!
If it’s been a while since you’ve eaten here give them another try.
It had been a while for us I will admit & I wasn’t quite sure how it would be. Would the portions be too small? How would the service be? How long will the wait be? Will we even get in?
To my surprise our portions were enough!
The service was perfect. As soon as we walked in & up to the desk the manager greeted my husband & assured us we would be taken care of.
The wait was not long at all, maybe 7 minutes.

Its definitely has been a while since I’ve been to Arigato‘s. I will say their weekday specials are OK. They could be better. I do hate the fact that they’re like the only ones in the area that don’t serve noodles with the appetizers. It would be nice if they even offered noodles as a side option that you could add in addition.

I can’t rate the food because my family of 3 were never seated. We came in at 6:00pm and was told we had to wait 45mins after already having reservations. Okay I was fine with that after the 45mins I noticed Lisa was seating others who came in after us. So I went and asked how much longer we had to wait. The lady told me there were 2 more tables ahead of us. Okay that shouldn’t take too long we’ve already been waiting a hour. So now I’m counting the tables she is seating and she has seated 3 more tables. So I go and ask again because we are now at 1hr 20mins. this time the is Lisa she is very rude from the beginning. So I explain to her the situation of us waiting this long after reservation and her reply was thing happens and there are 3 to 4 more tables ahead of you now. I ask her how and she replies because I just made it that way. Sweetheart lose your attitude and do your low budget job… I will never go back.

This visit was a bit disappointing. Our server was attentive, but it took quite a while just to get drink refills. Gratuity is added automatically, yet my half‑sweet, half‑unsweet tea only came out correctly once. I eventually just asked for an extra cup of unsweetened tea.

The cook was friendly, but none of the usual crowd‑pleasing tricks happened—he simply cooked, served the food, and left. That would’ve been fine if the food itself had been good, but everything was under‑seasoned or just lacking flavor.

I’m not sure what the difference is, because I’ve only ever been to the Greensboro location, and I’ll definitely stick with that one from now on. You come here for the experience and because it’s something you can’t easily recreate at home… but honestly, I could’ve made a tastier meal myself.

Having nearly three decades of experience coming to this restaurant, the food is amazing but the service in the last few years especially has gone from fine to middling to below average to abysmal. In order to get a reservation, phone calls may not be enough and even when placing those reservations in person, they will not be recorded correctly, and when this is brought up? Management will not be simply dismissive but rude with nary an apology in sight. When you can get a reservation time, be prepared to be seated well afterwards sometimes by up to two hours. It is so disheartening to see a restaurant once beloved become a raging disappointment time after time after time.

Despite having anticipated negative experiences based on online reviews, I recently visited this establishment for my 37th birthday. I strongly advise against relying solely on such online feedback.

Upon entering Arigato, I experienced a brief ten-minute wait. However, my family and I were seated at the table with other patrons swiftly. The entertainment provided was of high quality. While I had anticipated witnessing an onion volcano, I was particularly impressed by the “I ❤️ U” inscription on the rice, which elevated my evening beyond the birthday song.

The food was so scrumptious! It was of such high quality, I half-expected it to come with a golden crown. This was my first time returning since the COVID situation, and I must say, I kinda miss their takeout service (i wish they still did it)

Anyway, 10/10 restaurant, the patrons at the tables were exceptionally courteous. While they refrained from excessive conversation, they maintained a respectful demeanor towards one another.

This is, hands down, my favorite restaurant; and it has been for 10 years. I am in the restaurant industry myself providing top knotch service, but nothing beats Arigotos. Tonight the server, Reagan, was terrific on all aspects of service, and our Hispanic Chef was funny and very very entertaining.

we had eight people to celebrate my 49 Birthday we still had to wait some extra time after having a reservation the lady that come and got our drinks took our food order. There was no Smile on her face. She was very rude. you could also tell her expressions she was done for the day. She was ready to go. My husband has an allergy to mushrooms so apparently she did not give that information to the Chef Because he comes straight out fried mushrooms with the filet mignon, when my husband had told him he had a an allergy to that he scraped away the mushrooms, put them on my plate and gave him the steak Very disappointed you pay over $400 that’s not including tips. They don’t even serve sushi when we ask for the Yum Yum sauce to go. I was brought three to go Tray Yum Yum sauce just splattered all around. also, another thing that was brought to my attention there was several birthdays celebrated on 12 -6 They had the whole crew out there singing, happy birthday and the whole 9 yards when I think they finally got to me about 10 o’clock at night. There was only one man that beat that loud instrument with a happy birthday. this was my first time here the food was overcooked the steak, the shrimp, and the lobster just please do some research before you visit this restaurant so you don’t leave with a better taste in your mouth

. First time, we made a reservation and had to wait 1 hour to be serviced.
2. I asked for a to go box and the waitress came and went for 2-3 times and still no box. So, I asked her again and with an attitude she said “yeah you need to pay first”. Like okay you should’ve said that the first time I asked. No problem.
3. I’m assuming an older white lady was their manager. She came over and stated “yeah people tend to leave without paying when we give them their to go boxes first”. Understandable.
SECOND TIME
1. Made a reservation and still had to wait 1 hour to be serviced.
2. Was given to go boxes by the same lady (I think is the manager) before we were even done. Was not even given a check yet.
THE DIFFERENCES?
– First time: the whole table consist on POC 4 adults and 3 children.
– Second time: majority of people sitting at the table were white and we were the only two poc.
When you make up policies make sure you are consistent with them. Disgusting behavior!
