Oh, I second your opinion on on salad bars. They are absolutely banger, despite rolling the dice on potential risk of food poisoning.

Memories of the York Steak House glory days brought us in to give it a try. While some sites list this as a buffet, it isn’t. It has a one trip limit to only small garden salad items. Sign posted they were out of T-bones. Sirloin was pretty good. Service good. If you’re reading this, please hit Like❤️

A little odd but I had a decent time. We went on Valentine’s Day and I could tell that they were like at the end of probably what was the rush so I’m hoping that was the only issue, even though it was Valentine’s Day so they should be prepared for that. It took about 40 minutes for us to get our food and when we got it it was cold like cold cold everything the fries were cold the steak was cold. Our server was friendly but we only seen her twice. I know some places they tell the servers not to be in the customers faces or whatever but ya should still checking every once in awhile. Especially when we’re waiting 40-45 minutes on food that takes 10 minutes to cook.

I was confused and delighted by my solo dining experience here as a 20-something.

The food – my “York filets” were tender, cooked as ordered, and really hit the spot. The roll was warm and pillowy with a nice crust, quiet enjoyed it. Sides were all super bland, I was surprised that my “veggie medley” looked like it came straight from a microwave steam bag out of the frozen section. The only seasoning on your food will be from the S&P shakers on your table. I got chocolate cake for dessert, which was topped with stabilized whipped cream instead of icing. Didn’t care for that or the sides!

Ordering experience – Really confusing. I wish I had gone during a busier time so I could be queued into the expected flow of events. It’s part counter service, part grab&go, part buffet, and part table service? The staff were very kind but I felt so silly repeating myself at every station “this is my first time here, what’s going on? What do I do?” But it was really that bewildering to me!

I will say I was entertained from start to finish, so much so that I almost forgot how hungry I had entered. And what I came for – the steak & baked potato – did not dissapoint. I wish I tried it out sooner! Definitely seems like THEE place to take your low-sodium grandparents out to eat.

Two friends and I enjoyed our lunch today (01-13-26). I had the combo . I chose the 1/4 chicken and sirloin tips. Included salad, potato and roll. One friend had the 2-filets also came with salad, potato and roll. .My other friend had a cheeseburger. All three of us thought it was the best! Definitely will return.
My chicken was nicely seasoned, my sirloin tips were so tender and juicy, topped with grilled onions. Normally I do not order sirloin, too tough. The sirloin tips I had today were so good. I will most likely order the same thing when I return!
Great prices as well. The desserts looked yummy.

Place felt like it was stuck in a time capsule. Food was not very appealing or tasty. Service was good though.

Wow this is now a classic the only one left! I love this restaurant! Me & my sister from another mister enjoyed our dinner! She brought me a peach pie, I tell you this pie was amazingly delicious! They get a lot of customers! I heard the pumpkin pie was number #1 ! Until I taste it I’m sticking with the !!! Will return soon! ☕️

Decided to check the York out for one thing only and that was the Chicken Noodles on Mashed Potatoes, green beans and dinner roll. The interior is like stepping back in time. The dark carpet, wood tables and dim lighting. The green beans were straight out of a can but okay. The Chicken and Noodles was phenomenal. Great big pieces of chicken mixed with homemade noodles in a nice thick gravy. Yummy!!!! And the dinner roll was off the chart. Pillowy soft and buttery tasting. Delicious!! On to my waitress, Michelle rocked it checking on me numerous times. I’m guessing she’s been there a while since she knew a lot of the customers. Definitely will have to make a return trip.

My family and I went to York today for dinner, as we have many times for years. Tonight’s experience was hands down the worst we have experienced ever since we have been going. To start off, the trays and silverware were extremely wet, then the lady that took our order realized there were no salad plates, waited for her to bring the plates back over before taking our next order. Moving onto the salad bar (usually our favorite part) everything was empty including, cheese, ranch, cucumbers etc and what wasn’t empty was not fresh, looked like it had been sitting there from this morning. After waiting 10 minutes for the salad bar to be filled back up (after we had to ask) moved onto to getting our drink, no glasses for drinks, then the employee noticed we were waiting on them to bring glasses out. Moving onto sitting down, there were two waitresses on a Saturday night with a full house they were doing the best that they could, but recommend having more than two waitresses on a Saturday night. She was busy, we had to go get our own drinks twice. Then we get our food, I ordered a medium well steak came out raw, i’m typically the kind of person that can eat a pretty red steak but this was so red I didn’t even want to eat it, my aunt ordered chopped steak topped with cheese and onions- she received it with the the liquid cheese on the side and the onions. She asked if they could put the sliced cheese and onions on top, she got her meal back with the sliced of cheese unmelted, and fries were now freezing cold, sent it back again.

To end this off, we have been going here for years and years and discussed not returning. Honestly, we host our family events here, we come here on a monthly basis and we are all very disappointed.

It’s cheap. That’s a big reason for coming here. You won’t leave hungry, but you will leave with some extra cash in your pocket. Its cafteria style. Salad and roll included with entree. They also offer chicken, spaghetti and fried fish. Steaks are pretty thin. Ribeye doesn’t taste different from sirloin. Actually taste is just ok. But the service and the nostalgia are top notch. Pay for bottle water. The water they bring to the table is funky! Trust!

Waited almost 54 minutes for our food. Steak was well done. Asked for medium chicken was dry. Shrimp was ice cold. Only saw our server a few times the whole night. Not worth the $30 I paid for. Could have went to the Texas Roadhouse or any other steakhouse and had a better meal
