If you love authentic Fish and Chips, this is the place for you! They are the best in the Tampa Bay area. They are my favorite, I like how crispy and tasty they are. They are located near the Dunedin Causeway and Honeymoon Island State Park. They have indoor seating and pet friendly outdoor seating. They also have a great Bar. It is really very nice inside. The recent renovation was a huge success. The menu has alot to offer to include other popular British dishes such as Sheperd’s Pie, Bangers and Mash, etc. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The Reuben Sandwich is also very good. It took some time for anyone to clear a booth for seating me. The overall speed of the service was not the most timely I have ever seen. There was one waitress and one waiter for about ten tables and a “Ten Top”. This challenge could easily be solved with Staff Refocus Training and an aggressive Hiring Practices Plan from a driven Management Team. My waitress, Makayla, was polite. The food order brought to my table was correct and the fish was hot. The coleslaw was good and the portion size was great. The Spicy Bloody Mary was good. If you appreciate British food and drink, I highly recommend that you patronize this establishment.

This was once one of our favorite restaurants to eat in town. Would come multiple times a year over the course of the seven years we’ve lived here. Not sure what happened if they changed new ownership or what? The quality has declined tremendously. The recipes have changed. The fish is no longer breaded the same, and the fries are different. First time we came since the recipes have changed. After dining here at least 20+ times, that was our last period the new manager or owner or whatever is not very friendly nor accommodating. What a shame that this is declined so much. Used to be a Dunedin favorite. Why did they have to change the recipe? The decor and the new remodel takes away the ones charming atmosphere.
Response to owners comment about not changing recipes. This is the previous recipe prior to ownership changing. Completely different breading and completely different fries. I will try to locate the new picture of the CHANGED recipes…. if that means, I have to order and take photos to prove, I will do so. The breading is 100% different, and the fries are different as well. I will update once I get the new photos of the CHANGED recipes. You can 100% see that the recipes have changed. The breading is completely different. The fries are completely different. We’ve been here enough to know the difference. It’s not cool to deceive patrons.

Check your receipt carefully with your credit card statement if you dine here!
We ate at Cricketers British Pub & Restaurant in Dunedin and had two meals totaling about $40. We left a 20% tip of $8 for our server Olivia.
When the charge later posted to our credit card, there was an additional $2 added to the gratuity, making the tip $10 instead of $8. This doesn’t appear to be a simple one-key mistake—changing $8 to $10 requires multiple keystrokes, which makes the situation feel deliberate.
We called the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager. An older-sounding gentleman came to the phone. While we did receive a quick apology, there was no reassurance that this was an isolated incident or not a common practice. Even more concerning, the manager asked us to provide our full credit card number over the phone in order to refund the $2, which made us uncomfortable.
This isn’t really about the $2—it’s about trust and honesty. While $2 may seem small, if this happens to multiple customers, it adds up to a significant amount of dishonest overcharging. I strongly recommend that anyone who dines here carefully double-check their credit card statements afterward.

Incredibly busy and loud. unfortumate because it’s a fun looking place. Lots of tvs and British decor.
Make a reservation.
Fish and chips was just average. Portions were generous but fish was bland. My companions even agreed fish wasn’t as good as it usually is.
If I go back for a second try, I will order another menu item.

One of our favorite local spots got a complete overhaul! Looks fantastic inside. I love the new clean look. The ceiling tiles and new finished look of the bar give this old place a classic finished look. The bathrooms got a makeover too, much needed!
Thank you to the owners for keeping the menu the same. This is a great spot that provides locals with that “Cheers” kind of feeling. We love knowing the food and drinks are consistently traditional and so good. We hope the owners keep up the traditional menu.

Ordered uber eats from here. Asked for no onion as I have an adverse immune reaction to it. Uber eats wouldn’t refund. I called cricketers and the woman on the phone could care less. Put me on hold. For a bit. Says the manager said you need to get a refund from them. I explained they wouldn’t. She again did not care or say hey we will make you a new one. I suggested that. She again put me on hold to ask manager. Came back. “Yeah if you’ll pick it up”. Terrible attitude. Would never go there. Too bad because we heard good things. And wings are not great.

Remodeled with more room on base floor and band has a little more elbow room. Fish and Chips($1 upgrade to cod)were still delicious. Special was prime rib Philly and it was so good. Same music duo there providing smooth tunes. Will return when we come back to the area.
Fish and Chips was delicious. Top 3 I’ve had in the world to include England. Music duo was outstanding. Cooler sitting in the middle of the restaurant, warmer on higher side by small stage. Excellent choices for beer. I love me some Murphys Irish Red!

Been eating at Cricketers for decades and it’s always great! Awesome service, generous portions, tasty food! Honorable mention to the grilled chicken tender meal for being massive and the chicken philly for being one of the best around. Highly recommend this local spot!

When we recently moved to Dunedin we were delighted to find a British pub and restaurant within walking distance. Our first experiences there met all of our expectations and we thought we had found a new favorite restaurant. Then today happened. I went over to order a takeout for our lunch and asked for two of the lunh special fish and chips baskets, one with cod and one with haddock. After a few minutes the girl who took the order came back and informed me, somewhat incogently, that I could not choose cod or haddock for the lunch basket and I replied that I would have whatever was in the basket then. A few minutes later she came back to take my payment and was going to charge me the full amount for one haddock and one cod fish and chips. I told her again that I wanted the lunch special, not the regular dinner and she disappeared into the kitchen once more. After several long minutes she reappeared with a small, grim-looking woman, presumably the manager, in tow. They went to a register and fussed over something for a moment and then went back to the kitchen, the small woman giving me a tight smile as she passed. I waited some minutes more and the child who had taken my order returned with a bag of food, apologetically, and again nearly incomprehensiby, telling me that I would have to accept the cod and haddock at the full price. I reluctantly conceded because I was famished and did not care to argue about the matter. Upon arriving home I discovered not the large fillet of cod and an equally large fillet of haddock that was expected in the context of our previous supper order, but two identical baskets of small pieces such as were in the lunch basket I had a few days ago. Neither had been marked as either haddock or cod. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement.
