Our favorite blue house Korean BBQ on Howe Avenue in Sacramento is still closed for renovations.
Because we have missed it so much, we traveled round trip almost 70 miles just to eat at the Vacaville restaurant.
A much bigger and more modern restaurant than the Sacramento restaurant, what we also miss is the friendships and relationships we developed with the servers and manager. Gone right now is Peter, and Henry as servers and the gm Pho who left the company. They were candidly some of the most cordial and attentive servers and manager we had ever had the privilege to deal with personally. Pho always greeted us by coming to our table and making sure we had everything and no problems.
The Vacaville restaurant was nicely decorated. Large entry lounge, with plenty of areas to sit and wait. It was adjacent to the full bar area, which had a large sitting area, tables and chairs as well as large TV for sports events.
The dining area was also large. It has been renovated from what was the old hometown buffet restaurant.
We selected the option A, which has be updated with more options of meats and side orders.
The meats we selected were well marinated and tasted great. We selected the bone in Gabi, marinated spicy pork bilogi and beef bilogi. 3 each for the night. The rib eye was also nice and tender, and no overly marinated.
In all a great dining experience. The price has increased, but what hasn’t!

Great drinks & good quality of meat, everything was reasonably priced. The pork belly was delicious and the ramen hit the spot. I joined the waitlist online which was super convenient as they do have a wait time. The service was spot on- friendly and consistent so we enjoyed our meal and the meats kept coming. Will definitely be back!

We decided on a last-minute date night and tried Blue House Korean BBQ for the first time. We went with Option A at $38 per person (they also had other, more expensive menu options). You can order 3 meats at a time and 2 appetizers at a time.

We really enjoyed the cheese corn and beef dumplings. My husband ordered the fried Korean wings in mango habanero and miso soup, and I tried tofu for the first time—surprisingly, I liked it!

The only downside was that since it was so busy, we had to wait a while for the server to come back, whether it was to order more food or even to pay. My husband also would’ve liked more spice options—something like chili oil on the table would be a great addition without having to ask.

Overall, the food was delicious, and we’d definitely consider coming back!

My wife and I dined here for our 10-year anniversary. Great atmosphere and only waited 5 minutes for a table on a Thursday night. Started off with some steamed rice, fried rice, and calamari and shrimp appetizers. Decided to opt for the Wagyu meat selections, which is a bit pricey at $109/person. The Wagyu was delicious, and the shrimp and butter lobster tails were great as well. My wife got a Margarita and I got a Moscow Mule. Both were great and a refreshing add to the meal. It was fun to try the more expensive meat and although it was good, I’d say there is more value to be had in options A and B for the dinner menu. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and our server really helped us get the best bang for our buck.

We went for a birthday dinner and it was pretty much what I expected. The food was fine, not bad but not outstanding either. My daughter (11!!) absolutely devoured the baby octopus lol. The spicy beef bulgogi was tasty, the meat cuts were very inconsistent though, some big a d some really shredded and small. The grill temp started too hot and we weren’t really given much in the way of guidance so another server had to come and re-set us basically. Re ordering was pretty easy and things came out fairly quickly at first but at the end, reordering things like drinks and desserts took a bit longer to come out, I do think they were short staffed though, plus we had a birthday dessert. Overall, it was a fun evening but not overly exciting and I likely wouldn’t go back again unfortunately, but my husband and daughter definitely would. I am just particular.

My family and I came here for dinner this past Friday night to celebrate my son’s high school graduation. They had a nice promo for high school graduates which offered 10% off the entire check. This was a smart move on their part as I’m sure that brought more people in, however they were also one of the few restaurants that opened late (12am) as the graduation did not end almost 9pm. They were packed and despite having an 9:30pm reservation, we still had to wait about 40-45 minutes (was told 15-20 minutes wait. When I checked in) before being seated as the tables were not ready yet. Normally, there isn’t as much of a wait unless it is a holiday weekend. As we waited the waiting area got more and more full with people with reservations and walk-in/waitlist patrons.

I have been to Blue House Korean BBQ 3-4 times now and despite it being busy, our waiter was very nice and attentive. I cannot remember his name, but he provided the best service I have had here thus far. As for the food, I have only ever had the AYCE Korean BBQ, so this review of the food is based solely on that. You do have the option to just order A la Carte if you and your party are not in the mood for AYCE. The better deal is option A or B for the AYCE as package C is just too pricey for me and I don’t feel like the value is there. Their meats are not marinated, just drizzled with the flavor of sauce you choose, whereas other Korean BBQ places I have been to have their meats marinated for more flavor. They do provide 3 dips (green sauce that I’m not sure of, salt/pepper mix and sesame oil). Overall, there is enough flavor, but could be better. The appetizers are just fair in flavor as well. The KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) is decent, but again the sauce is just drizzled on top and tossed.

The atmosphere/vibe of the restaurant is good. They have plenty of seating for small and large groups. They also have private rooms which includes a Karaoke Room.

For Vacaville, this is the only AYCE Korean BBQ. For the price, I can’t complain about the quality of the food. They have a “birthday wheel” that you can spin for prizes such as free food on your next visit. It’s a great place for the meat lovers!

We recently visited Blue House Korean BBQ in Vacaville, and overall, we were very pleased with our experience! The atmosphere was laid-back and the staff were friendly and attentive.

One thing to note was that our order took a bit longer than expected to arrive. A lovely Korean lady noticed we were waiting and, as a gesture of goodwill, brought out a complimentary dish of japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) for us to enjoy while we waited. It was such a thoughtful touch, and it really made our experience stand out. Therefore, the wait was well worth it, and the food was good to satisfy our korean food cravings.

We enjoyed the variety of dishes available at the BBQ grill. The meats were tender and flavorful, and the sides were all delicious.

Overall, we’d definitely recommend Blue House Korean BBQ to anyone looking for a good Korean dining experience

The entire restaurant needs better ventilation and more exhaust fans since everyone cooks their food at the table. During busy times, especially on weekends, it becomes very hard to breathe. If you have asthma, you may want to reconsider dining here. Aside from this issue, the food was fine—you just need to make sure the meat and seafood are cooked thoroughly. The servers were nice and professional.
