This place is lit, the atmosphere the vibe just brings you back to Pakistan. The food tastes amazing, the quality is great and serving is ample too. Ordered charsi mutton Karahi with chicken biryani and Anday wala chicken burger. Mouth watering. Must visit with family and friends.

This place is on my personal list of “Central NJ Gems.”
Parking is typical of New Brunswick (ugh) but as soon as you walk in, you’re transported into a completely different world. Gorgeous splashes of color on the walls, chairs, dishes & tea kettles. Unfortunately didn’t get a chance to see the upstairs but pictures look divine.
They have very different lunch & dinner time options, but give you the menu for both (so you can see what you’re missing). Lunchtime is for paratha (like fried crepe) chicken tikka wraps, samosa appetizers, and a selection from 4 types of chai or good ol’ mango lassi (smoothie). All for about $15/pp!
Food was nicely fried, flavorful and comes with green dipping sauce. Both teas were very distinctive, but smooth with a rich creamy texture… a spicy bubble less boba.
Service was slowish and you might need to ask a few times for things, but they were helpful with questions & recommendations… so I’ll consider it a plus one for authenticity (typical of asian establishments ha!).

We got here around 230pm, unfortunately they were done serving breakfast. We got lunch and were not expecting too much from the food here. The place was filled with young crowd on their computers. We ordered a chicken and a beef phartha roll asks khark chai. The portion looked small. But wow was it filled with flavor! I liked the chicken beter, it had the smokey grilled flavor. The beef was very tender and spicy. The chairs was refreshing. Overall it was a pleasant atmosphere worth the price.

Absolutely loved this spot – everything from the chai to the food everything feels genuine and full of flavor. The presentation, ambiance, and warm hospitality create such a comforting, homey experience. It’s rare to find a place that nails both authenticity and quality like this one does. A must-visit if you love good chai and bold, vibrant flavors.

Very cozy place, service was great and food was very good, we had one issue with a beef kebab that was a bit tough but when we talked to the waiter he offered to switch to a chicken one at no extra cost and that one ended up being very good. We order a ton of stuff and everything was delicious, would love to come back.

We visited around 8:30 pm and left at closing time (10 pm). Unfortunately, the service experience wasn’t pleasant — the server seemed rushed the entire time and didn’t make us feel welcomed.
As for the food, I personally didn’t enjoy the Shinwari Karahi and Bihari Kabab, as both had a sour taste that didn’t suit my preference for meat dishes. On the brighter side, the Chicken Tikka Roll, mango Lassi were very good, the Badshahi Faluda was okay, and the Chai was enjoyable.
Overall, while some items were nice, the service and main dishes could use improvement.

DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOR. If you want to go to Chai Chenak only for food then go because the food is good. However if you dont want to be disrespected and want to be served somewhere where you get good food and respect then dont go here. Because the food at chai chenak is not cheap, why would you waste your money at a place where you are disrespected and treated like a dog. The service here was HORRIBLE. One of the workers over there named OWAIS was VERY DISRESPECTFUL. At first when I asked him for coke and a cup of ice he seemed to be annoyed but I ignored that. Later on when it was time for us to leave I asked him for a bag for my food to take home. He brought it with really nasty attitude like he wanted to punch me in the face. We ordered chai to go. But they served it in their restaurant style with Chenak and a tea cup. I asked the same waiter (Owais) if he could please bring the to-go cup, twice. When he brought it to us, he SLAMMED it on the table and walked away.a my husband and my two kids were STUNNED at his behavior but before we could say anything he walked away. We drove two hours to come to this restaurant just so we could be disrespected ? The only people that were really polite and hard working were the Spanish workers there. Before I left I kade a complaint to his co worker. The food was not so bad but, I would never go there again after they disrespected us like this INFRONT of little kids
