This place is honestly one of the few high-level restaurants in Port Elizabeth, so expectations are naturally high. The atmosphere and overall vibe definitely feel more upmarket, which is refreshing.
That said, a few things are falling short. There’s no starter touch like bread and butter before the meal, which feels like a miss for a place at this level. The beef was nicely cooked and very tender, so no complaints there, but the vegetables didn’t taste fresh and kind of let the plate down.
Dessert was a bit confusing too — the crème brûlée was just weird, not what you’d expect in terms of texture or flavor.
Overall, it has a lot of potential and some strong points, but a few details need attention if it really wants to stand out as a top-tier spot.

Old school style steak house restaurant, plush decor and settings with an incredible view. The service was quick and extremely good and the food fresh, tasty and very comforting. Staff neat and well presented, owner managed which is clear and makes all the difference. Had a great evening.

The Coachmen was a lovely experience. There were lots of friendly staff members who were always ready to help. The food was quality and did not disappoint. Atmosphere is warm, it felt very elite, so dress smart casual or fancy. This is definitely not a budget friendly restaurant, but it is definitely an experience you should try at least once for a special occasion.
