The food was amazing and the margaritas were tasty and strong! The service was incredible. Our waitress was very attentive but every staff member who passed our table checked on us to make sure we were good. At first looking at the menu I thought the prices were just a little high but after ordering I was surprised by the huge portion sizes, the picture I posted was just one dinner meal. You definitely get your moneys worth. I’m looking forward to coming back here.

We sat down, ordered drinks, queso, dinner and got the check within 22 minutes. SO GOOOOOOD.
The server was SO kind and they all have been when we have ate here. The food is good and the environment is cozy and what you look for in a local Tex-mex restaurant.
Also this place has been on TV, featured on food shows- definitely worth a try.. you’ll become hooked.

I used to come here for years and it was my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area, which makes this visit especially disappointing.
The prices have become astronomical. Each plate was over $19. I understand the location near the mall plays a role, but the food and portions no longer justify the cost. Portions were fairly small, and unfortunately none of the food had any real flavor. Even a little salt would have helped. On top of that, there was no effort made to make the dish look appealing.
We both ordered barbacoa and egg burritos. The barbacoa itself had no flavor at all, and the tortillas were so tough they were difficult to chew. The salsas were just hot without any depth or flavor.
What made it worse was the service response. Staff came by multiple times asking how everything was. We were honest and said it was not good. Each time, it was brushed off. They simply asked if we wanted anything else and walked away, with no attempt to address the issue or make it right.

Hands down, this is my favorite Mexican brunch in all of Houston—and honestly, probably anywhere I’ve ever had brunch. The only place that might edge it out is Cabo San Lucas… and this is a very close second. That’s saying something.
Everything about Barcenas is phenomenal. The food? Absolutely incredible—every single bite. The service? Exceptional from start to finish. You can tell they care about the experience, not just the meal.
If you’re anywhere near Webster or Baybrook Mall, this place is a must-try. It’s one of those spots you leave already planning your next visit. I truly cannot wait to go back. So, so good.

True and yummy authentic Mexican food. I had the fajitas..the meat was tender and juicy. Ranchero beans were so tasty and perfectly cooked. All ingredients were fresh. The michelada was delicious. The service was impeccable as well! I will definitely go here again when I’m back in Texas.

Coffee was like it was yesterday’s or instant, the shredded cheese tasted cheap, potatoes tasted old, then it’s expensive SMH. I don’t mind coming out my pocket for some good food but when it’s not, it’s a big deal. Service was really nice but I’m there for some fresh tasting food and drinks. Sorry

We love Barcenas! We come almost every Friday for dinner. The Fajita Poblano is always amazing, and the Tacos al Pastor are packed with flavor. The margaritas are delicious too—especially after a long week! Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. This is definitely at the top of the list of Mexican restaurants in the Clear Lake area. Stop in anytime you’re around. Check out their other locations too, a new one just opened by South Shore.

1st time here with a friend and tbh it wasn’t all of that now the servant was 100% good. I was standing good Customer Service. I forgot his name. But he did his thing. went for breakfast and it was okay. I got the chilaquiles breakfast plate and it was a little dry in my opinion. The green sauce was definitely not spicy for the spicy option and it could have used more sauce anyway. I can’t base the whole restaurant off of one plate. The service was prompt and the waiter attentive. I would go back to try their lunch maybe.
