Social Profile:

Uli’s Restaurant is a White Rock institution. Opened in 1986 by Uli Blume, it was one of White Rock’s original waterfront restaurants and quickly became a favourite among locals for its great food and friendly atmosphere. Uli’s son Tyson took over operations in 2008 and he picked up right where his father left off – providing the White Rock waterfront with a fun and relaxed place to enjoy a vibrant atmosphere, stunning water views, refreshingly simple food, an extensive international beer list, and a diverse selection of wines. Chef Jennie Silk is also making quite an impression on locals as they flock for her impeccable local flavours on the menu.

Quirky eatery offers BC wines & a Euro-inspired menu using local ingredients, plus weekend brunch.

Got a window outside table on our visit. We have come during the week and don’t seem to have too many problems. The service was good. The food is tasty. The burgers are a little pricey and are decent enough. Not sure they are $30 good but it’s an experience. This time I tried the salmon benny really liked it. Price-point it is comparable to other decent breakfast places that sell the same dish. Very flavourful! I might do that instead of the burgers if I go again.

Ulis is a local gem. The food is worth the visit, and the service is usually great. As a scratch kitchen their menu rotates quite a lot, so bear in mind the offerings may be different.

We’ve been lucky enough to always be seated outside which has a covered patio and great ambience, especially in the rain. I would recommend outdoor seating over indoor, however, the tables are somewhat narrow and not ideal for more than 2 people.

I wouldn’t recommend the place for families, both the environment and menu is not really geared towards kids.

My personal favourite is their breakfast served with fresh rye and house made strawberry jam. They get pretty crazy with the burgers and the cocktails, and usually have a yummy special of the day.

Summer time has me thinking of Uli’s burgers and outdoor seating. This place can definitely get busy as most restaurants in white rock get.

Their ketchup is made in house and is delish. The bison carpaccio was good as a share appy. The 4.0 burger was yummy! Also tried the pasta – not bad but I think burgers are a better bet here! Nice service staff.

This place is amazing. We brought our senior dog here for her final meal and the staff went above and beyond. Brought a bowl for her to drink water and the manager paid for a burger patty for her. It was amazing. Thank you so much Uli’s for making my baby girls final moment special

I’ve reviewed restaurants all over the world, and I rarely leave negative feedback but this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had.

They advertise themselves as a “scratch kitchen” and claim that by supporting them, you’re supporting local bakers, brewers, butchers, and farmers. Unfortunately, nothing about our visit reflected that.

We asked the hostess if they served oysters she said yes, but they were never mentioned again or available. When we asked our server she said we don’t have them.
We were given two glasses of terrible tap water (and I’ve had plenty of tap water before, but this was genuinely bad). We ordered two lemonades one tasted just like water. When we returned it, they still charged us, and we had to ask them to remove it from the bill.

As for the food, it was clearly frozen and pre cooked. The calamari and fries tasted like something straight from a grocery store freezer definitely not fresh or locally sourced.

Our bill came to over $50 + tip for just calamari, fries, and one lemonade. For a place that makes big claims about quality and local ingredients, this felt really misleading.

The tables were so gross and could use some cleaning. I’ve attached photos for evidence.

To be honest, I don’t know why we didn’t just walk away.

The only redeeming quality is the location, but sadly, that’s not enough to recommend it. I wouldn’t go back

Rocked it. Waitress Bianca nailed it. Informative and encouraging. Tried schnitzels for the first time (but bit greasy for preference). View on the patio was the heart attack cream ontop. Must go. Pick outside. They have strong heaters. The truffle fries are to swoon for. A memorable steal!

Beautiful brunch on the patio with sunshine and delicious food, great service and atmosphere. We shared the pickle plate and had the no.8 burger and the chicken and waffles. Everything was hot and fresh. Service was 10/10. Best restaurant in the White Rock area.

If you’re gonna have a cheat meal in January 2026, the 4.0 burger is potentially perfect for that.
Pretty darn tasty burger!
Holy shipyards.
Immediately upon walking in, I got a good vibe from the front staff that I was in a cozy and welcoming venue where excellent hospitality service is a priority for them. I had googled “best smash burger near me” and Uli’s came up. I asked the bartender, Alina, what she’d recommend for burgers. Her quick answer that it was the No. 4.0 with adding bacon and extra chev told me this was the obvious answer. Her recommendation was spot on. I’m literally salivating just writing this review. But I am a burger glutton so I am biased.
Places like Uli’s with farm-to-table hookups are such gems: I could taste the difference in quality. It’s an award winning burger for a reason.

The food was okay. We found that the chorizo & clam vongole and the bison carpaccio to be a little bland. The carpaccio was only good if it had some mustard on the piece. The crab cake was pretty strong on celery and didn’t have enough crab flavour. We thought the chowder was pretty good and definitely worth getting.

Absolutely fantastic burgers and a great selection of rotating taps. Right off the Pier and has a fantastic patio with waterfront views. A must have if you are in the area, highly recommend the 4.0 burger.
