Beautiful restaurant within the Radisson Lackawanna hotel. Reservations are suggested although we were the only 2 people eating from 6pm-7pm on a Saturday evening. I believe it was because the hotel was hosting a large party and most of the guests were probably there. The evening prior, the restaurant was full. We were served quickly and our drinks were brought along with warm bread and butter. We ordered pasta and crab cakes and our meals came out quickly. Everything was so hot, fresh and tasty. My scallops were tender and my cousin enjoyed the lump crab meat in her crab cakes and vegetables. Dessert was a delectable warm creme brulee. Prices were fair. We would definitely recommend dining here.

We recently had breakfast at Carmen’s for the first time. It is a “hidden gem”, IMHO.
The food and beverage quality was very good.
The service was very good as well.
It is the Carmen’s and Lobby atmosphere that creates an “elevated experience”, we love the train station conversion. Very quaint.
So overall, an excellent experience and value.

I was a little confused cause the restaurant in in the main floor lobby with the check in station but its separated in one corner of the floor. Once we where at our table it didnt matter though. The rest of the scenery is amazing. And the food was top notch. The calamari was light yet crispy at the same time and i had a prime rib and it was cooked the way i like it and my wife had shrimp with pasta and she lived it. Price was good and food and service was excellent. Not what i was expecting. Will come back one day.

My wife and I went here last night. I was expecting a “decent but overpriced” meal which are easy to find at the fancier restaurants in the area. Man was I really surprised! This was easily one of the top 20 meals of my life (and I’m old and well travelled). The staff was friendly, service was prompt, waiter was very informative and truly knew all the details of the chef’s work to explain and answer our questions. The food was amazing! Appetizers through yo dessert, there was not 1 mediocre item, it was all fantastic! The decor was beautiful (decorated for christmas) and there was live music being quietly played by a pianist in the foyer. Great experience. I can’t explain the older negative comments here. Maybe the staff has changed? I can’t wait to go back!
As for price… It’s not cheap but if you want cheap, get fast food. It also was not very expensive. I would say its priced perfectly for the quality of the meal.7

Food was pulled from a steamer, not fresh, and at what place do you not bring butter out with flapjacks? Oh this one….
I would recommend you leave the hotel and go out to a real diner.

A reasonably priced up-scale sit-down restuarant that takes the internal design and gorgeous architecture of the Interior of the Lackawanna Train Station and capitalizes on it to produce an excellent ambience. Can’t go wrong with breakfast here if you’re staying in the Radisson or nearby in Scranton.

I very much enjoyed breakfast at Carmen’s. The building is beautiful, excellent service and quick food turnaround.
Highly recommend stopping it!

The made in house salads, smoked fish, Asian dumpling/noodle bar were great and it was wonderful to see the chef proud of good work. Some of the other items missed the mark. We arrived about 30 minutes after brunch opened so I would have expected items in chafing dishes (French toast was hard, eggs benedict yolk was solid and biscuits were approaching soggy, pork was tough, fish uninspiring) to be fresher having not sat that long yet. The day we went wasn’t terribly busy which probably didn’t help to keep such a large volume of food turned over quickly enough to taste its best. Waitstaff walked past our table a few times before collecting empty plates which grew irritating. I would recommend staff or leadership visit the Wynn Buffet in Las Vegas (similar pricing) to see how to adjust volumes of food and service so this can be a grand buffet fitting of the gorgeous building its hosted in.

For the past six years, our Thanksgiving tradition has been to dine at Carmen’s. Regrettably, this year’s experience was severely lacking in terms of food selection, warmth, and availability.
Upon being seated, we promptly ordered drinks. However, the Autumn martini arrived in a juice glass filled with ice, and we had to wait an additional twenty minutes for the remaining beverages. Our waiter informed us that there was only one bartender working on Thanksgiving, which seemed inadequate for the occasion.
Furthermore, the coffee we received was served cold. The buffet was frequently empty for extended periods, up to thirty minutes at times. This was not an exaggeration, as the stuffing was only brought out as we were departing, having been unavailable throughout our meal.
This Thanksgiving gathering included two other couples, and we were not the only ones expressing dissatisfaction. Nearby tables were also complaining, and people were standing and waiting for food to be replenished at the buffet.
The reason for this decline in service is unclear, but it has certainly prompted us to reconsider our patronage of Carmen’s in the future.
We did speak to the manager, who offered the customary apologies, but we believe that preventive measures should be taken to avoid such situations altogether.
Despite the circumstances, our waiter, Devon, was apologetic and understanding. Although the shortcomings were not his fault, we left him a holiday gratuity as a gesture of appreciation for his efforts.

The chocolate chip pancakes at breakfast were phenomenal, and my husband loved his omelet as well. Beautiful historic building too!
