Went in on a weekend morning. The staff was mostly friendly. The prices were good for the portions. Food tasted okay. We super excited about trying the dessert. We got 2 different types.
The one they used cool whip as the topping instead of whipped cream or meringue. Not my favorite, but I understand some folks like that. The custard tasted like regular eggs on a crust. We assumed they must’ve made a mistake and forgotten the sugar. I only ate one bite and then pushed my plate away. The waitress came back and never asked what was wrong, she started clearing the plates. So I asked her, “Does your custard normally not taste sweet? Because it tastes…” and she interrupted me and said, “Yep! That’s the way it’s supposed to taste.”
Okay.
That interaction changed our entire experience. We were planning to go back and visit again, but found other places to go instead. A pie, buy it’s nature, should be sweet. If it’s got egg and it’s not sweet, it’s a quiche not a pie. That is the major difference between the 2 dishes.
If you do go, steer clear of the pies. They look delicious but taste disgusting.

This was really kind of a quaint family restaurant.We really enjoyed our meal.My coworker and I both got the hot beef sandwiches with a side of soup.The cream of potato soup was fantastic.I ordered a piece of pie to go the lemon meringue.The meringue was amazing.It was light and airy.The lemon was really good

Great family restaurant! Food is excellent and the service was very good also. It can get a little noisy if you’re wanting conversation, but not too bad. And you kind of expect that in a family restaurant — groups of people having a good time around a meal.

I really like this place. They have some construction going on right now, so the dinning area is a little smaller but the food was good and the service was good also. I like that a gentleman asked us what we wanted to drink right as we sat down before our server even showed up. Give it a try even if you’re just passing through.

I was traveling on Tuesday night and staying in Sparta. I decided to stop here for dinner. The food was great, service was great, and great atmosphere. Thank you for the excellent service! I will definitely be back here if I am ever in the area and will recommend the restaurant to others.

We stopped with a large group and it was a positive experience. The servers did a great job handling a larger group, making sure drink refills were taken care of, the food came out quickly and was decent. I had the Philly cheese steak with the au jus and it was alright, could have used a little more flavor but still ok.

Clean fast and friendly service ! Food was of good quality and quantity. Wasn’t sure what to expect but I was surprised when the food came out in 15 minutes flat and was perfect. Would highly recommend. Prices were very reasonable.

I would rate more than a 5 if possible. Excellent food service and atmosphere, would recommend. The grasshopper pie was delicious, and so was the crispy chicken ranch wrap! Perfectly made!! Will definitely stop again!
