We enjoyed a Brioche Lobster Roll, a Classic Burger, a Two Splitter Burger for our two kids, and the World-Famous Clam Chowder in a bread bowl. The dishes were presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. The price was reasonable. The ocean view and pleasant atmosphere made the visit truly worthwhile. I was pleased to learn that the public is welcome to sit, bring their own food, and use the restrooms. After lunch, we took a relaxing walk along the less-crowded beach, which was a perfect way to end the meal.

The restaurant is on the waterfront. Only outside seating is available. Each table has a torch lamp for heat. If you’re visiting the restaurant in the evening, it is recommended that you bring a sweater or a jacket. The menu is extensive with plenty of seafood dishes and steaks. The prices are moderate. The service was very good. The parking lot is shared with the state park. Parking for dinner the course was five dollars. The dishes served were very good. There’s a full ball.

So glad Gladstone’s is still standing after the fires. Been going there for 42 years. Never disappoints. Great food and ocean views and service

I dropped anchor here for a weekday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The weather was shore perfect, and sitting out on the patio overlooking the ocean made the whole experience smooth sailing. A few of my old “go-to” spots have sadly perished, so I’d never actually tried Gladstones before.
I went with the Baja fish tacos (grilled, not fried) and they definitely didn’t flounder — solid, tasty choice. I hand out 4 stars when I’m really happy and save 5 stars for when I’m totally blown out of the water, so don’t take the 4 as a ding.
The wait staff was friendly and helpful, though they seemed a little underwater at times — no fault of theirs, just felt like they could’ve used one or two more hands on deck.
All in all, a great catch, and I’ll definitely be casting my net here again.

My bf surprised me and took me here after we did the Getty Villa. We had some drinks and shared the grilled chicken sandwich. The staff were all so lovely, the food was delicious, & you can’t beat the view. There is a walking path down to the ocean or you can chill in the public lounge area. Great vibes & great times!

Happy to report Gladstone is back! And I think the renovating inside so only outdoor seating available at the moment! Make sure to try the lobster roll. It was delicious!

This is definitely one of the oldest and nicest place in LA to offer good food next to a public and accessible beach.
One of the best time to go is by mid-afternoon as it’s less crowded and in the winter you can enjoy the sunset by 5pm. They do offer a lot of seafood dishes from the traditional clams chowder to the lovely lobster roll. For the kids they have a couple off-menu options such as a special kids fish n chips.
Definitely a great spot that I recommend for brunch and afternoon drinks and snacks.

Our Uber driver from the airport recommended this place, and we’re glad he did! We stopped on our way back from the Getty Villa and had a beautiful lunch, with lovely views. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere, and our waitress (Maddison I think?) was fantastic. She was very attentive and very helpful in finding out some information for us about where to catch the bus. Both the service and food was the best we experienced during our time in LA.

A great place for lunch with a stunning sea view. It’s a bit close to the road, but the sound of the waves drowns out the car noise. There’s parking in front, and you can also find some by the beach. The food is “okay”; I ordered a chicken sandwich, and my friend had the lobster roll, which was delicious. However, it’s a bit pricey for what you get, and the waitress seemed a little fake.

Will recommend for lunch. The inside is super cool though.
