The burgers are amazing here. I tried the double Buck, which was really juicy and left me feeling full. They add jalapenos, which gives it a nice little twist. I also had a normal poutine and it was okay.

Dillalos. Where you can bask in the glory of Mario Lemieux, beaming down at you from a giant poster where the man himself has written, “To the Dillalo family, best wishes, your friend, Mario”. The burgers here are like a Time Machine to another time and place. The French fries and onion rings an old friend who hasn’t changed and has kept their endearing smile. Root beer served on ice (if you ask for it) and a string of locals who are always up for a chat. How ARE Les Glorieux doing this year? This delightful spot that first opened its doors in 1929 and is an absolute can’t miss spot on your classic Montréal restos stops.

I ordered a medium steak poutine at $18 and it looks like a small. It’s not a great tasting poutine. Barely any steak or cheese. They messed up my order of medium fries as well. They gave me a small. I’m very disappointed. I picked up the food and the debit machine starts with 18% tip. I regret tipping. I’m never going back. Plenty of casse croutes out there.

I’m honestly still in shock from my experience here. I ordered a poutine and discovered a cockroach or some kind of bug in it. When I brought it back to the counter and calmly explained the situation twice, the staff member screamed at me and said she didn’t understand what I was saying. Instead of addressing the concern respectfully, she walked to the back and showed the food to the kitchen staff while completely ignoring me for 2–3 minutes.
Then, right in front of me, she took out a can of RAID and stared at it, like that was somehow an appropriate response. She finally turned to me and asked if I wanted her to make another one. Obviously, I said no and requested a refund. She told me she had to call the manager, which she did — but once off the phone, she handed me my money without a single word. No apology. No acknowledgment. Nothing.
Not only was the situation disgusting, but the complete lack of professionalism, basic courtesy, and food safety awareness was appalling. I will not be returning, and I strongly urge others to check their food carefully if they choose to eat here.

I just moved out near this restaurant. Thought I’d give a try. What a vibe of a place, I had made a mistake in my order, and they corrected it with no problem. (I don’t like relish and mustard) and forgot to ask to remove it. Poutine one of the best ever and the burger is a solid 9.5/10 I got the double buck and poutine buck. Definitely a cheat meal for me, but was super worth it. Give it a try yourself!! You won’t regret it. Nice staff too.

Food isn’t great nor terrible.
But it sure as hell isn’t anywhere good enough to cost $28 for a medium poutine and a burger (and that’s without tip)…

I have been a huge fan of Dilallo’s since I used to get a Buck Burger for an actual $1.00 at the original location on Monk and Allard. I eat at various locations around the city to this day. Today I had lunch at the Allard location. My son had a Buck Burger and I had a Pepper Burger. Both burgers were so badly assembled and falling apart all over the paper before they were picked up and a single bite was taken out of them. We asked the breads to be Dipped/Wet. They were neither dipped nor wet – they were just simply a totally soggy mess – like the bread I soak in milk for my meatball recipe. It was impossible to eat them like a hamburger should be held for eating so we just let everything fall apart on the paper and ate them like popcorn with our hands. Next time that happens, I won’t take a bite and won’t send it back. I will stick a note on it addressed to the cooks saying “You try eating this mess” and walk out. The cooks working there today at lunch time should be sent to other Dialllo locations to learn how to prepare a burger.

If you are a foodie on a local eats quest, it’s worth the trek out here to check out the OG location from 1929. Nearest Metro stop is Monk on the green (1) line and from there less than a 10 minute walk. Staff was friendly and super nice. The thing to get here is the famous Buck burger. I got the double Buck. Being served upside down just means you get the juicy patty side first when you chow down. Unbeatable first taste. Lots of historical artifacts and newspaper clippings around and merch for sale.
