Food is great, service is very good, nice atmosphere! Plenty of outdoor seating & parking. If you go during happy hour, which is every day from 2 to 5 PM, you’ll get a nice little discount. Highly recommend the Tres Tacos. Delicious crispy fish with a light batter.

You know what you’re going to get at a McMenamins..great food and drinks, qwirky atmosphere. I like John Barleycorns in winter..a good wood stove, usually not too crowded. We always get fries. They gladly do substitutions on burgers..I get the dungeon with chicken instead of beef. It is always amazing.

McMrnamins us always an interesting choice. The buildings they select always have some sort of historical value. They fill them with interesting antiques, tchotchkes and even some handmade things that always catch the eye. This particular location, there were several things that have been carved from wood as well as a large antique wood burning stove that we got to sit right next to. Honestly, I’d love to own one. The food is always good and the service here was fantastic. The waitress was on cue consistently and brought us whatever we needed. She even split the dinner salad between myself and my wife so we could easily have that and then an entree without feeling like we needed to be rolled out of our stall.

Great spot with a cozy, laid-back vibe. The food was really good and hit the spot, and the atmosphere makes it a place you actually want to hang out and enjoy your time. Perfect for a relaxed meal or casual get-together. Would definitely go back.

Recommended by a local. Great atmosphere , I loved sitting in the patio area. The flight was great and loved the tater tots. Definitely a place to bring family and friends. Would love to come again hungry to try some of their other food items.

The fried food portion we ordered was overfried to the point it was uncomfortable to eat it, the tater tots were like bits of crackers with not much softness of the potato on the inside and same with the Scooby snacks. It wasn’t great. Also when I tried to catch a waiters attention all of them seemed to strategically look past the actual customers and at things next to us or the empty table next to us and just zoomed past us it was to the point we were just gonna leave because no one seemed to care to stop by the table at all until they noticed my friend get up and finally someone came by, we expressed our concerns over the food we barely touched because it was too hard to eat and we weren’t charged so that was nice but it was a frustrating experience

This place is tucked into some buildings and what not it’s a quite little bar, but we’re here during happy hour so there’s not very many people at the bar. They have some nice whisky .They have great spirits and they have some great beers Give them a try.

John Barleycorn’s is our absolute favorite McMenamins! The building is so beautiful and rustic, covered in lovely vines. In the center of the main dining room sits and old-fashioned wood-burning stove; and it keeps the room nice and warm in the cooler months.
John Barleycorn’s serves delicious soups, burgers, and salads. The seasonal specials are always a treat. But, the best items on the menu are the tater tots! We must order them every time!
