Madigan’s Waterfront is an absolute gem. The food and drinks were phenomenal, but the atmosphere is what truly stole the show. The panoramic waterfront views, framed by those beautiful glass doors, created a winter scene so peaceful that I felt instantly grounded and right at home. Even sitting outside, the space stayed warm and cozy, almost like the restaurant wrapped everyone in a soft welcome.
The customer service was excellent, with a team that moved with ease, kindness, and real hospitality. I genuinely did not want to leave because everything just flowed beautifully, from the oysters to the scenery to the energy of the space.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, great service, and a scenic experience that feels like a breath of fresh air. Madigan’s truly delivers.

We went to Madigan’s Waterfront for a murder mystery event and 3 course meal! They will give you a salad appetizer, then a meat (recommend chicken) and then 3 mini cakes! It was all very good including the service. Madigan’s also always has fun events to be apart of!

Been wanting to try this place for years because it’s right on the river, just never got a chance since I live an hour away.
Came here on labor day for supper with a group of friends. Service here was absolutely awful. We asked for refills on our waters, waited 30 minutes and they didn’t even fill everyone’s cups (had to get her to come back). Had to constantly ask the entire time.
The crab soup had literally no crab in it and the vegetables reminded me of the trio of vegetables you get from a frozen bag.
Side caesar salad was over-dressed and just okay, definitely not worth a $5 upcharge.
I was there with a party of 6, and the food didn’t come out together. 4 people received their food, 15+ mins later another dish came out, and mine was at least another 5 minutes after that. By the time the last dish came out, everyone had finished their meal. They completely forgot about my meal until someone else said something and it was brought out with cold rice (they even admitted it was sitting there and they had forgotten about it).
The crab cakes are a lie. They look very lumpy on top until you open it, see picture. They basically put lump crab on top of special or claw crab with filler. The bottom is very mushy.
The poke bowl was just whatever, I wouldn’t call it a poke bowl. The tuna was fresh though. The old bay chips didn’t have any seasoning to speak of.
The manager or someone tried to rectify the situation but couldn’t change the fact we sat there for over two hours, waited a very long time for water, and food didn’t come out at the same time. This place wasn’t even busy, maybe a quarter of the tables. Can’t imagine coming on a day when they’re busy.
They also charge a 4% credit card fee.
Overall it was a good night with great company but I can’t recommend this place and wouldn’t come back.

Best orange crush I’ve had in 10 years or so… tried the salmon bowl & fish tacos; both were splendid. Sits on the waterfront so the ambiance is dynamite AND they host live music; which is ALWAYS a plus.

We went for Valentine’s Day and it was a remarkable disappointment considering the various previous good experiences we’ve had here. The food was truly middling. Not worth $145 at all. They forgot to put dressing on the salad and served me uncooked potatoes. The steak was something I could have gotten at a cheap diner. Gross.
Additionally, I’d called ahead and was told that they’d have a band at 8pm. The band didn’t show up until 9:15, at the end of our meal. Again, deeply disappointing.
Finally, they added a 20% gratuity to the bill without announcing in advance that they planned to do so. It was not on the menu and it was not communicated when I reserved or over the phone. This is a disgusting and dishonest business practice. I would have tipped regardless because the waiter did his best, but the dishonesty here soured an already underwhelming evening.
I’m not planning to come back to Madigans and would instead recommend literally any of the other similarly priced and orders of magnitude better restaurants in Occoquan.

Have been here many times..most times service has been fine. This time service was subpar. Several items ordered were forgotten and even after asking weren’t brought out. Manager made things right which helped. Crab bisque had little to no crab. May have been an off night but was disappointed.

Attended a wedding party on 1-3-26 and the reservation was not ready. Guests for the wedding party were standing around while the staff made excuses and scrambled to put tables and chairs together for the group. Once we were all seated, there was only 1 server (Berlin) to a group of 20. She did a very good job as she managed the large group. Unfortunately we had to wait for awhile to get our food not knowing why. Other guests with smaller groups were being seated, ordering their food and getting their food in a timely manner. Other guests were being served and departing while we were still waiting on our food. We asked for a manager and she came out to apologize. She made sure our food started to come out. Rest of the experience was good and we enjoyed ourselves. The newlyweds were happy too.

We were in town for a cousin’s celebration of life and the wake was held here at Madigan’s, which was one of his favorite places. It’s in the small town of Occaquan, VA on the riverfront. The staff was very respectful and made sure everyone was comfortable. They served several hors d’œuvres buffet style and they were quite tasty. I’d go back again and try it for lunch or dinner one day if we’re back in that area.

I was here with the Michiganders on the Road tour group and had the stuffed flounder. Wow! It was delicious and a very ample portion. The veggies were well prepared and a good complement to the dish. The salad that came with the dinner was good and was served with a very soft and tasty roll…I could have eaten several more!

First time here and we absolutely enjoyed our experience! The food and the drinks were amazing. I want to add that if you want wings as an appetizer, order them before you even sit down. They take a very long time to cook. The wings came out with our main course meal. However they were definitely worth the wait. Delicious! For our main course meal we order the Stuffed flounder, Salmon with crab meat and the dirty chicken. Food was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was a sweetheart and she made sure we were happy. Great restaurant and friendly staff.
