All in all, I’d have to say this is yet another one of those order-at-the-counter taqueria places. Sometimes that model means the focus is really on food quality and bold flavors, but in my opinion, that wasn’t the case here.
The kitchen is open, so you can watch the food being prepared, which I do appreciate. As for the flavors, they struck me as pretty average overall — nothing stood out as particularly memorable or unique.
I ordered the two-taco plate: one al pastor and one chile verde. I was intrigued by the idea of chile verde in a taco, but when my plate came out, I was disappointed by the portion size. There was barely enough meat to make one taco, much less the usual “two tacos from one” that’s common when they provide double tortillas. The al pastor also fell short — a bit dry, and not nearly as flavorful as versions I’ve had elsewhere.
On the positive side, the rice and refried beans were both very good, and the salsa bar had some solid options. That said, I didn’t love seeing a sign limiting customers to two very tiny salsa containers per order. I doubt they enforce it, but it left me feeling a little awkward about taking a third, especially after spending around $35 for two plates.
Overall, I wouldn’t call this a bad experience — just not particularly satisfying or interesting. Nothing about it would prompt me to come back if I lived in the area.

I ordered a mar y tierra with no rice or beans and extra salad. What I got was double rice and meat that looked like leftovers. The food was unpleasant, the “salad” was minimal, and the guacamole was black and clearly old. Completely unacceptable for a dish that costs over $20.

Taqueria Extra is my go-to spot for takeout, and it never disappoints. I always order the carnitas tacos, which are consistently flavorful and satisfying. Their rice is especially good—so good that I usually skip the beans and double up on it!
One of the best deals around is their combo: two tacos, rice and/or beans, a drink, plus chips and salsa—all for around $15. The chips are fresh, and the salsa has a great kick. For the quality and portion size, it’s a fantastic value.
If you’re looking for a quick, easy, and tasty lunch, this place is a solid choice. Highly recommend!

If anyone considers the food from this restaurant good, know that this is a 1/10 and I would never recommend this place to anyone. We ordered the Taco salad and red enchilada plate with grilled chicken and I don’t have words to describe how bad the food was, we left most of it. Save your money and go to an authentic Mexican restaurant. Never goign back and would not recommend it.

EDIT: They responded to my review below, asking me to EMAIL them so they could address this issue with me. I emailed them about 2 weeks ago and they have still not responded. It appears that they just wanted to look like they wanted to make things right, but in fact, they ignored my email. I dont want anything from them. They asked me to email them.

They post themselves that they close at 10pm. Their own words. I walked in at 9:53pm to order 1 crispy taco and they said they were closed and would not take my order. Terrible business practices. Honoring your posted closing time is what potential customers want.

We actually drove out of our way to eat here because they seemed to have good reviews but our experience was anything but good.
We arrived 20 minutes before closing and placed our order for several items we were excited to try. We were told only after paying that they were no longer seating people and we would need to take our order to go (there were still several people eating inside).
We waited what seemed like forever for our order and once we received it, obviously wanted to check it before leaving. They not only seemed annoyed that we were checking (mind you, it’s still a few minutes before their stated closing time), but when we noticed multiple items were wrong, they refused to fix them because they were “closed”. They actually laughed at us when we insisted they should correct the order or refund the incorrect portion.
We left with no refund, credit or apology with food which was shockingly (or maybe not so shockingly at this point) devoid of flavor and texture to round out an overall experience that can only be described as a complete travesty. I cannot fathom what others see in this place.

I go here regularly for lunch. Prices and service is excellent. The staff and customers are very friendly. I ordered the taco special and it was delicious and good sized portions. Highly recommend this restaurant

The food wasn’t bad. My tortillas were dry and not great. But the birria was good. However, I really don’t like the atmosphere of restaurants using plastic forks and plastic ramekins for customers dining in. It cheapens the experience. This place has counter-only service, making it more akin to a fast food restaurant than a nice taqueria.

If you’re hungry give this place a shot – I’ve passed by for years and finally went in. Super burritos are huge and at the price of a normal burrito most other places. Also surprisingly good salsa for a drop-in type spot; recommend the ‘extreme’ one, which is habanero and some fantastic mix of other spices/flavors I couldn’t quite pin down but absolutely loved!

Do not order from this restaurant – Jose and Maria specifically told us they were incapable of fixing this or providing us the right order. this is supposed to be a Super Quesadilla, two wet Classic Burrito, and a Fish Taco and Shrimp Taco . As you can see the tacos arrived completely smashed and falling off the plate. the two wet burritos are not wet because Jose said he couldn’t press the extra charge button even though we have ordered this exact item on door dash before and never had issues, and the quesadilla came melted to a grease falling apart plate.
When we called and spoke to Jose and Maria to make it right they pretty much told us nothing we can do have a good day. We offered to bring the food back and show them and they said no. We asked for. manager and they said tough luck. Such horrible customer service and it is truly a shame because this was my favorite find in 2023.
