Quality of the all the fish was fantastic – very fresh and delicious. Salmon crispy rice, wagyu and yellowtail hamachi in particular were highlights. Paperfish Roll was just ok. The atmosphere is lively and exciting. My server, Dasha, provided great recommendations and service. Really enjoyed the experience and think you get great quality for the price.

If you’re looking for a meal that’s part sushi dinner and part high-stakes escape room, Paperfish Sushi is your destination. The outdoor dining offers a lovely view of the South Florida heat, though you’ll have to compete with a soundtrack of loud music and rowdy guests from neighboring restaurants just to hear yourself think. If you manage to survive the noise, your next challenge is finding the bathroom, which is tucked away like a hidden level in a video game. Good luck.
The menu is a bit of a strategic minefield. The Hamachi Jalapeño roll was fresh and yummy, but the crispy rice section is where the real drama happens. The tuna crispy rice was merely okay, while the salmon version—lavished in truffle oil—was the undisputed star of the table. I was a bit miffed to see the table next to us enjoying off-menu Philly rolls while I settled for a “standard” salmon nigiri and a New York roll. My backup choice, the spicy tuna, was perfectly fine, though it packed a level of heat that felt personally offensive to my more conservative palate. Apparently, tuna/avocado or Boston rolls are too mainstream for this establishment.
On the bright side, the Blossom Flower cocktail is a refreshing masterpiece that actually makes the humidity bearable. While we were devastated to miss out on the legendary Joy, our server Dasha handled our challenging group with the kind of grace usually reserved for saint-like figures. If you have any room left after navigating the “secret” bathroom and the spicy tuna, the Paper Tuna comes highly recommended. It’s worth the effort, even if you have to shout your order over the neighboring table’s festivities.

Good mid-level sushi restaurant with vibrant outdoor street vibe. 4.4 rating. Everything is good, but not top tier. For food, I highly recommend the miso cod bites and the wagyu steak on hot stone. Both were excellent. Rest of the items were good but more average. Service was very friendly and casual. We sat outside – fun street dining vibe but crazy loud. Restaurant across street turned their music up to 10 and mixing with our restaurant music – it was a little chaotic and too much. Indoor vibe was nice. Recommend for good sushi – but don’t expect top tier fancy place.

This was my 3rd time dining at Paperfish Sushi. It is an absolute must for me every time I visit Miami. Gene, my server, was incredible- so friendly and welcoming. My favorites will always be the salmon crispy rice and salmon aburi. Pro tip is to go during happy hour from 5-7 PM. The decor and music is also wonderful. Thank you Paperfish Sushi for a lovely dinner! Till next time!

I enjoyed the outdoor seating, which today was perfect temperatures. The sake was really good. I highly recommend the sake in the photos. And then the ceviche sampler was really delicious -All three are good, but my favorite one is the watermelon. If you do want to try the steak, I highly recommend it for either medium rare or rare. Really great choice of Japanese fusion flavors. Everything was perfect. Food was all delicious. I would definitely come back. Walter was an excellent host.

The food was excellent — we had the cod and the burger, and both were really well executed and flavorful. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the quality definitely stood out.
However, the wine pours were shockingly small. For $16 a glass, it was barely 4 oz, which felt extremely stingy and took away from an otherwise great experience. At that price point, the pour just doesn’t match the quality of the food.
Great food overall, but the wine service seriously needs improvement.

We went there purely by chance and we were over the moon! Joy our waitress was wonderful and brought us the freshest and softest EVER sushi at an amazing pace! We also had the truffle rice with wagyu and that was also soft (meat) and crispy but not hard (rice). We will come back!
