There’s literally no reason for it other than laziness, I’ve given this place so many opportunities but I guess I’ll be going to the mom and pop place up the road, bigger portions lower prices and the smoke flavor is actually there. Really sucks cause I grew up on Papas but it’s just not the same anymore

I paid right at $30 for 1 lb of lean brisket to go. Get it home and with the container it is not even a pound. Costs way too much to be cheating people. Even worse, the brisket is rubbery and has no flavor. They used to have such amazing brisket I was really looking forward to this. I only ordered lean because last time they gave us so much fat we almost did not have any meat at all. The upcharge for jalapeno bread to be given a single slice is also pretty ridiculous. Complete waste of money.

Ok. I must say that I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular my first time eating here. Having tasted a few items from a Thanksgiving dinner bought here, I wasn’t too impressed. That said, I ordered the family meal special thing they have and a brisket burger. Holy rusted medal Batman; every single dish tasted better than the last. The flavor, textures, tenderness, etc. was spot on. Made me feel so comfortable and nostalgic. It was above and beyond yet down home and delicious. I will definitely be coming back here, even without a gift card! Which is what led me there to begin with. Thanks Pappas, well done!

there was plenty of cheese but no taste. hardly any butter, I had to add extra from home. no utensils so luckily I went home. drive thru seems to have only 1 speaker working,so the girl seemed surprised when me and the car behind just drove to the window. she says you didn’t order? I said you not answering the speaker and 2 cars already had passed on the other lane. a little rude in a way. for this service Wendy’s would have been better for the same size potato at half the price

I asked for a baked potato the person there told me they were out of baked potatoes. So I ordered something else. After that I see the same person serving a lady a baked potato and he gave it for free idk the reason but I hear he told her it was on him. So I was just disappointed ☹️

I have never been here, but my partner has almost 5 years ago and she got food poisoning. We recently moved to Pasadena three years ago and I’ve always wanted to give it a try and today was the day. And let me just say I highly doubt it I’ll give it another try.
my partner brought me the mixed platter plate of two ribs two slices of brisket two slices of ham and sausage. For my side I got coleslaw and macaroni and cheese. Also, may I add that this did not come with a drink.
First, my ribs were not fully cooked. They were still raw that I had to put them in the oven. the coleslaw had no flavor macaroni and cheese was just too wet the sausage was too tough. And for the price they didn’t give a side of pickles or bread. The french fries were a plus, but besides that my experience with the food was not a + in my book.

It’s a chain BBQ restaurant. You know what you’ll get. The prices a very high for mediocre BBQ. There so many other great BBQ joints in the Houston area that I’d rather spend my money. I only went here because my employer paid for lunch.

Worst service and food quality ever. Spoke with the store manager -Leslie- and she refused to be helpful an any kind of way. Spoke with 3 different people on the horrible quality of food, service and was told by the 2nd person that the manager had left for the day… ironically then the 3rd and last person spoken with was the store manager -Leslie-. Had never been to a papas I didn’t like but this one had us leave our food and go somewhere else . The brisket was nauseating. Sooo much grease was just leaking from it and we all received pure fat & gooey chunks instead of actual meat . To top it off this cost me almost $70 . We won’t be back to this location .

We frequent this location for bbq. Went last night for dinner, 2 meat combo: brisket was so dry and had no flavor, and only received 4 round pieces..even the sausage lacked flavor. We originally wanted baked potatoes and they said they didn’t have any. The pulled pork and sliced bread were also dry, no sliced onions and hardly any bbq sauce in the self serve area. Won’t be returning any time soon.
