We had a great experience at Sweetwater last night, largely thanks to our wonderful waitress, Indalesia. After originally stopping at Blackstones and waiting 15–20 minutes without being greeted—while our toddler was having a meltdown—we decided to call Sweetwater to check the wait time for a party of eight. Once we realized there would be no wait, we headed over, and we’re glad we did.

From the moment we arrived, the service was attentive and welcoming. Our entire party was happy with both the food and the service. I ordered the Ocassion steak bites, which were very good—though a bit over-seasoned for my personal taste.

Overall, it was a positive experience with excellent service, and we would definitely return.

This is the Sweetwater Tavern that is located in the Detroit area. My husband and I have been to the main Tavern downtown Detroit 2x. Unfortunately we’ve had three totally different experiences while ordering the wings.

Our first experience was golden. Five stars all the way.
Our second experience, we ordered the exact same thing and everything tasted different. We were instructed that you can’t even do the cook was for the day the flavor of the chicken wings etc would be different.
Our third experience was in Flint. Customer service was S.L.O.W.

Overall, 3 strikes and ‘you’re outta here.’

Rib tip and wing combo is the way to go. Amazing food for the price. I was really impressed by the unique flavor of the chicken wings. Just the right amount of spice for me. The BBQ sauce on the ribs is really good too. I ate once down in their Detroit location and loved it. The flint location did not disappoint.

The food was OK but our service from Latrelle was absolutely incredible. We had a big party and he was very attentive and kept everyone happy. I ordered a burger medium and it was more on the well done to super well done level. The wings and fries were amazing. I would be ordering the wings on my next trip, no questions asked.

Went in for lunch for my friends birthday. I give this place ten stars honestly. The atmosphere was spacious, nice, and relaxing with a good vibe. The server Tia we not only attentive but offered some great suggestions. When that food hit that table the magic in my soul manifested rib tips were tender, meaty, sauce perfectly, The wings!…I see why they’re famous. The nice crisp texture combined with the seasoning hits your pallet and made me smile. Went in for some Mac and cheese the pull on that cheese, the creaminess, pasta cooked perfectly moving to the greens and cornbread the greens have a nice little kick to them but that fluffy, lightly sweetened cornbread mixed right in perfectly! Good portion sizes and a menu you can explore time and time again. Which I will be going too do Great choice.

I ate here before a show at the the FIM. Ordered a pizza. The sauce on the pizza had NO flavor, like no garlic or oregano. Just plain tomato. It looked so tasty but was pretty disappointing. Might have been the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten, for real. Wait staff was friendly but it seemed like there was only 1 waitperson and the restaurant was full with a before show rush. Meh. I wouldn’t go again.

First time here. Should have walked back out when we walked in and saw a completely empty restaurant. They’re out of quite nearly everything. Asked for a bowl of French onion soup, they’re not making soup today. Ordered a Pepsi. They are out but offered me a Diet Pepsi. No thanks. Ordered wings to stay safe. They were dry after biting in. Like maybe they were made yesterday? Refried and sauced. My one carrot and one celery were old. Carrot wasn’t even peeled. And looked like it had been cut a few days ago. Gross.

Won’t be back.

Honestly, bartender was really rude last night. Not sure what was up. My brother & I sat at the bar and ordered food. He goes in the back after taking my order, came back out. A woman brings my brother his food and reiterates that the guy at the bar can take my order…I was confused… cuz didn’t I already tell him I wanted? I go up to him, this man never even put my order in… then when I did order, he asked me if I wanted the fries as if fries wasn’t included with my chicken wings…I really wasn’t feeling fries that night anyway, so I said nah I’m good. he brought my food out in a to go box with the bill. I never asked for to-go… but whatever, I still tipped 25%. Just to get home and see I paid j $19.95 for eight flat wing dings. Jokes on me LOL
