M.L.Rose Neighborhood Pub is a locally owned group of lively, laid-back pubs, founded in Nashville, TN in 2008. The original Melrose location quickly became a local favorite—a go-to hangout for friends, family and neighbors where you could get out without getting fancy. Our Sylvan Park location is located close to the Nations and the L & L Marketplace. Now a Nashville-area staple, every M.L.Rose offers an eclectic, lived-in space with seasonal beer and cocktails, delicious pub fare and burgers, and those famously crisp waffle fries. More than anything, M.L.Rose is about being a good neighbor—bringing people together and adding a spark of energy and community to every neighborhood we’re in.
Bustling eatery serving a variety of craft beers along with down-home burgers & sweet potato fries.

We started with the fried pickles and peppers. It would’ve been nice if there were more peppers because it was 90% pickles, but it was still good.
For entrees we got the good neighbor combo and the fried chicken B.L. tacos. The burger was basic, as they make clear with the description of that option, but it was done well – simple but good. The tacos were impeccable – generous amount of bacon, good sauce, and flavorful chicken. The waffle fries were great.
Service was good too.
There was hardly anyone there at around 2:00 so we were waited on and served pretty quickly. Peter, our server was great.
I had the Truffle Shuffle with a side of sweet potato waffle fries and a half and half iced tea. The wife had a black bean burger which looked amazing having a layer of kimchi on it I was intrigued.
The Truffle Shuffle was pretty good. I guess the way burgers are being served nowadays is sans vegetables. I miss the lettuce, pickles. But the burger was good. The wife liked her black bean burger.
I felt it was a little pricey, for lunch, but what the hell, I didn’t have to do dishes.
One gripe – the high top chairs and tables outside are so close together it is difficult to move when consecutive tables are seated. Maybe management could look at that?
Service: waitress was extremely friendly but the service turnaround and promptness was horrible… 15 minutes between being seated and first greeting? Then had to ask for waters. Then I ordered bottomless coffee. The cup was the size of a cappuccino it felt like. I needed a refill immediately. Nope. Not until I was paying my bill! Too late. Don’t bother. Then?
Food: I ordered the egg 5k dish. Judging by the price and knowing historically how portions are here — decent — I thought it’d be sufficient. Unfortunately, shrinkflation has hit this restaurant as well. The egg dish is closer to the size of a mini quiche with a ice cream scoop-size potato rationing. For $13? My last brunch trip to ML Rose. Beyond disappointed.
