Came for Restaurant Week and this was my first time dining here. Cody was an amazing waiter from start to finish. He shared his personal favorites along with patron favorites, which encouraged me to try the succotash and I’m so glad I did. It was SO good!

The grilled pork chop and blackened scallops with the jam from the Restaurant Week menu were absolutely delicious. Cody checked on us right as each course arrived and took time to explain the zero-proof drink options, which I really appreciated. From the friendly hostesses, to the woman who delivered our courses with the biggest smile, to Cody being warm, attentive, and on point, the entire dining experience was wonderful. And the cornbread hush puppies….OMG. I am actually still thinking about them.

Was in town for the weekend and heard great things about Grace and Grit! Made reservations for brunch on Sunday for an early birthday celebration and our server, Rebecca was amazing! She even brought out a birthday treat with a candle! Can’t wait to come back and try dinner!

We come to Mount Pleasant three or four times a year and Grace & Grit is always a highlight of our trip! I’m one of those girls who finds something she likes and sticks to it, so I was nervous when I saw my favorite was no longer on the menu, but Sarah T told me what the special was (twice!) and we agreed that it sounded like something I’d like. And boy was she ever right! She’s been our server several times and she always takes the best care of us! Thank you, Sarah T. for everything! Coming to visit Sarah T. and Grace & Grit feels like coming home!!!!

Oh me! This place was delicious!!! It’s a must try if you are in the area! I had the special of the night which was pumpkin swordfish , tarragon and basil grits and vegetables. My husband had the southern friend chicken with grits. Of course to start we had chicken livers and a Caesar salad

My wife and I ate here for brunch and it was wonderful. We are not from this area and didn’t know what to expect, but the food and mimosa flight was great. Margaret did a great job waiting on us.

The menu contained a lot of high fatty foods and sugar which is ruining America’s health. The quiche was too creamy and had an apple garnish that was too sweet. The apple tartness should be balanced with much less sugar. The grapefruit was Brulé but too much sugar on top again. The chef would do well to cut back on the sugar and the fat and offer something other than fried chicken on several of the entrées because it is making Americans fat and is very bad for the health. Perhaps they should be updated in nutrition. I know the chef is trying to create unusual food but it’s just not working for some of us who are health conscious and want cleaner food, less sugar and less fat.

9/13/2025 decided to try this place for breakfast. The orange juice was $5 for a very small glass!!! That was not a good start. I know it’s Charleston but that was a rip off.

I ordered the flight of grits, two scrambled eggs and the sausage and gravy biscuit. The flight of grits was delicious! The grits with gouda cheese was my favorite. The pesto grits were interesting but tasty. The jalapeño grits were delicious, get them if you like spicy.

I was disappointed in the biscuit with gravy. The biscuit needed to be split in half and it was too dry. The scrambled eggs were delicious! Some of the best I’ve had, one suggestion, don’t salt the eggs let the customer salt them. They were on the verge of being too salty for my taste.

I would definitely go back for the grits!
We also got the Johnny cakes, they were interesting not my favorite. My girlfriend loved them though.
Get bigger glasses for orange juice! You can see the small glass in the Johnny cakes pic.

While we didn’t have food, it looked and smelled amazing. Sarah, our waitress was on top of it. We enjoyed a couple round of drinks. When we ordered our second round, she suggested my boyfriend get his whiskey smoked, and that was the best idea. Atmosphere was great. We’ll be back
