Hands down the best Japanese place in Santa Monica, we are always greeted with smile and great service and the place has a great atmosphere.
Now the sashimi is so yummmyyy, they are very generous with the portions and the food is presented is such a nice way. We absolutely love this spot! I got a fee pictures of the dishes we’ve tried, they also have amazing corn ribs – not in the pictures – but honestly SO GOOD!
The price is very reasonable for the quality and portions, they have happy hour all day on Sunday which is usually when my fiancé and I go, nonetheless it’s great spot for a date with friends and family!

What an amazing Japanese pub, the food was just super tasty! The corn butter, incredible, the fatty blue fin sashimi- melt in your mouth. Pork belly taco, umami! Great selection of saki and beer!

I had an amazing time at this Japanese izakaya Shiru-bei at Santa Monica. Every dish was fresh and full of flavor, and the drinks were excellent as well. The staff was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience very enjoyable. The atmosphere was cozy and authentic, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy great food. I highly recommend this spot and would definitely come back again!

Last night, my lady and I stumbled upon a true hidden gem, and what a delightful discovery it was! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a special treat. The food was, quite simply, fantastic. Don’t miss the super tasty Wagyu Udon!! But what truly stood out was the fish – incredibly, almost unbelievably, fresh. It was clear that only the highest quality ingredients were being used.
The menu itself was a delightful adventure. We were thrilled to find an array of unique dishes, some of which we’d never even encountered before. It’s always exciting to try something new, and this restaurant delivered in spades. The appetizers were a particular highlight, each bite bursting with flavor and expertly prepared.
And let’s not forget the happy hour! We were so impressed to learn they offer both early and late-night specials, making it easy to enjoy their culinary delights at any time. This alone makes it a must-visit.

it was really cute inside, perfect for an intimate dinner date. they were really sweet and recommended a bunch of things to try. corn ribs (amazing), edamame (served cold), miso soup, cucumber something, anchovies, chicken karaage( my favorite), and others. the green tea came in a little kettle that they refill. i have no complaints i would come here again❤️☺️
