I was literally out driving and saw this place as I was going through Hiddenite. Looked cool so we stopped to order a sandwich. We walked in and this place was awesome. We ordered the Chicken Alexander sandwich to go and it was fantastic. Sweet ice tea was great as well. That’s all I can speak for but I imagine the rest of the menu has to be good. I highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our first visit to The Yellow Deli. Since we arrived at 1pm on a Sunday there was a long wait (45-60 min) so we killed time in the store next door. When it was our turn, we were seated in a round booth which was perfect for our group that had several kids.
Between all of us, we tried a little bit of everything: soup with bread, sandwiches, waffles, hot dog, and several desserts including the cream cheese pie, yogurt parfait and honey bun. Everything was delicious and we will be back again soon. I was especially impressed to find out that all of the breads (and most everything else) is made in house!

It says on the menu “We love you,” and that is the exact vibe the restaurant offers from the moment you arrive. I initially visited The Yellow Deli because of some negative publicity I’d heard—but I’ll be forever grateful I found the opposite to be true. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. We arrived on a Sunday at noon, right as they were opening, and although there was already a small line, we were quickly seated. During our very short wait, we enjoyed free popcorn and mango mate.
Once seated, we found the tables were spaced out and the noise level was minimal, which we appreciated. The decor is very unique and everything was spotless. We dined on the chicken Alexander, two Reubens, a “make your own” (a Reuben on pumpernickel), a bowl of tomato basil soup with artisan bread, cheesy jalapeño cornbread, root beer in a frosty mug, carrot cake, cream cheese pie with strawberries, sweet potato pound cake, banana bread, and a peanut butter cookie. Everything was delicious, and we could truly taste the love put into each item.
Before we left, we shopped in the store next door and purchased some delicious breads, handmade soap, honey, chow chow, and a cookie. The staff in the store was also extremely helpful and friendly. We’re already planning a return visit and looking forward to trying some of the same items—especially the sweet potato pound cake—and exploring more vegetarian options.

Lovely place with delicious food! We had the salmon sandwich, fish soup, and a hot dog for our son — everything was fresh and tasty. The place stays very busy, which is probably why our second round of drinks took quite a while. But the food was worth the wait, and our waiter was very kind, so we didn’t mind.

What a wonderful visit we had yesterday! Wonderful people, great food! We came at noon when they opened which was a bit of a mistake. We will target our arrival for around 1pm next time due to the long lines and wait. It was well worth it though!
