As a native New Yorker who lived just north of Philly most of her life, this place hits everything perfectly! I have been dying for cooper cheese for the past 2+ years I’ve been down here and it’s impossible to find! The bread is amazing- seeded was better imo- melts in your mouth! The meat and onions done just like up north in south street Philly- soft and flavorful! I got the cooper sharp and my boyfriend got the Truffle Wiz wit and both were fantastic.
The truffle fries were loaded with truffle – and though I’m not a fan of truffle- my boyfriend loved them! Easily the best cheese steaks and truffle fries in Dallas.
Also- get the funnel cake fries with chocolate and raspberry sauce on top! It’s how the guy recommended them to us, and they didn’t disappoint!
The vibe is great, good music and enough seating. Too clean to say it’s a like a northeast hole in the wall joint, lol but similar feel.

Great cheesesteaks! Ronnie was working his tail off when we came in around 3:45-4:00pm on Wednesday.
He was the only one manning the grill, register, prepping to-go orders, and serving the customers dining in. We ordered the classic and that sandwich was enough for 2 people. It was hot off the grill we got it, tasted great, and was very generous with the meat and fixings. Every bite had everything in it.
Definitely recommend if you’re on this side of town and want an actual classic Philly Cheesesteak. Don’t go to that place in the mall. After G’s you’ll never want that one again!

The reason for my rating is due to what I was charged. Somehow ONE cheesesteak with meat and cheese only, at 2 PM with a bottled water was $24. Either I was overcharged or the prices are a joke and don’t match the menu. I will say the sandwich from the meat to the bread was fresh and tastefull. HOWEVER as you can see by the picture the bread is the smallest and narrowest I have ever seen thereby you really aren’t getting that much meat. It looks like you get a good portion of meat but that is only due to the ridiculously small size of the bread. With the exception of being overcharged the staff were very warm and welcoming. For the price I would never go back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

I was really disappointed with GS Cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was bland and completely unseasoned, which made it taste very flat. On top of that, the bread was hard instead of soft and fresh, which ruined the overall experience. I was expecting much better quality, especially for a cheesesteak. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it based on this visit. I should’ve known better i didn’t see any Philly memorabilia or anything .ill stick to my usual Fred’s downtown Philly or big Tony’s . G’s cheese steak is a step below Charlie’s .

The cheesesteak and buffalo chicken eggrolls are a must-try and stand out as great appetizers. The Onion Marmalade Cheesesteak i highly recommend. This version of the classic cheesesteak is a delicious surprise, offering a sweet taste from the onion marmalade that perfectly complements the savory meat and cheese.

Stopped in at G’s steaks and was looking forward to eating here. There was only 1 guy working. I got the Cooper sharp steak on seeded bun, and hubby got the cutlet long hot seeded bun. My sandwich was not seeded, and the cheese was cold. The sandwich was good. The biggest disappointment was the milkshake. I was so excited to try this shake. I didn’t get it with my meal, it came when I was almost done with the sandwich. When it came to the table, I noticed it didn’t look RIGHT. I noticed black specs in it, and it was real soupy/liquid. I asked the guy if these cookies and cream or vanilla were. I told him it was soupy, not thick, like a milkshake should be. He said sorry, not hey let me make you another. I paid $7 for this milkshake and threw it away. If I wanted to drink milk, then I would have ordered milk. I can’t say if I would give @gssteaks another try. Very, very disappointed.

The cheesesteaks were very good. The sesame seed bread was fresh and complemented the meat well. My original was slightly over-cheesed and could have had more meat. The Yankee Doodle had plenty of meat and the flavor had a sweet Thai vibe that was tasty. The macaroni balls tasted ok but the texture seemed too mushy. The service was great and didn’t take long at all. The music made me feel like I was in a club and the techno beat put me in a trance, which was weird because it is bright inside. When you’re craving a cheesesteak, I recommend G’s.

I had high hopes and was let down . The air was off in the restaurant. Which made it super hot. The sandwich was done and the onion rings took another 10 mins and when we got in the car they were chicken tenders . We took a few bits and something seemed off and tossed it . 40 bucks down the drain.

The cheesesteaks here are really good! Service can be a little slow at times, but worth the wait. I like that you can order from the set menu or customize your cheesesteak just the way you want it. They also have burgers, desserts, and beer available, which makes it a nice spot for a casual meal.

Came in for my first time, after seeing 4.2 stars reviews. The cashier was amazing. Menu looked good. I had a lot of questions and they were very helpful. However, the food was TERRIBLE. Truffle fries were topped with a green sauce and Parmesan cheese. Not what I was expecting. The flavor was good but the fries were cold and stale- not enjoyable at all. Then I opened my sandwich, and was disappointed again when I saw no fried onions, and there were sautéed onions, as well as red and green bell peppers. Not at all what I wanted. I wanted NO SAUTÉED onions, but I didn’t tell her bc she told me they don’t come in it. I ordered SWEET PEPPERS- thought they’d be a topping. I guess you could consider bell peppers as sweet peppers, but why not just call it what it is instead of making me think it was a different kind of pepper?? And since when is onion considered a pepper?? They were all cooked into the meat too so I couldn’t just take them off. For these reasons, I cannot eat the food. It stinks, and it just isn’t good, plus it has the one ingredient I hate. $20 down the drain I’m never going there again. I’m disgusted.
