Casa Damí completely exceeded our expectations during our tapas date night! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt like stepping into a slice of Europe — ocean breeze, harbor views with yachts gently docked, and even the cutest classic Fiat Jolly parked outside setting the scene. La dolce vita in full effect.
We enjoyed some of the best tapas and cocktails we’ve had in a long time. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented, and the wine selection is next-level. Huge shoutout to Alan, their in-house sommelier, who is incredibly knowledgeable and guided us to the perfect pairing — we had no idea we’d end up reconnecting over wine this much, but that’s the magic of this place!
The service is impeccable — warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. You don’t just feel like a guest here; you feel taken care of.
Between the chic European-inspired ambiance, the stunning marina views, and the outstanding food and wine, Casa Damí has officially become one of our favorite date-night spots. Bonus: the patio is absolutely beautiful and pet-friendly, making it even more special. Already dreaming of our next visit! ✨
What we ordered (and every single one was absolutely delicious):
Cocktails:
• BICICLETTE – Bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced with blood orange and rhubarb; such a crisp, elevated sip.
• LIMONCELLO SPRITZ – Light, citrusy, and beautifully effervescent — the definition of a “vacation in a glass.”
Tapas:
• SCALLOPS – saffron risotto, blistered cherry tomato, herb tuile. To die for! The scallops were incredibly fresh and buttery, and the risotto was rich, aromatic, and cooked to perfection. Truly a standout dish.
• PAN CON TOMATE – Simple yet gourmet; the tomatoes taste so fresh and vibrant, layered over perfectly crisp bread.
• CROQUETAS – serrano ham, manchego. Creamy, savory, and indulgent — each bite felt like a little luxury.
• EMPANADAS – beef, Calabrian chili. Flaky on the outside, juicy and flavorful inside, with just the right touch of heat. Comforting but elevated.
Dessert (do not skip!):
• OLIVE OIL CAKE – meyer lemon, mascarpone cream, blackberry coulis. Light, moist, and beautifully balanced — citrusy, creamy, and not too sweet. The perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.
✨ Highly recommend: Casa Damí is a must-visit destination for its impeccable service, exceptional food and wine, and beautiful atmosphere — perfect for date nights, evenings with friends, celebrations, or any special occasion.
Hostess greeted us and sat us down promptly.
From there the service kinda went down hill. Our server was in the middle of introducing himself and randomly left to go sit other guest. We didn’t get to enter in our first order until 10 ish minutes after we sat. Our meal was brought out at separate times. By the time my fiancée got her meal my food was cold.
It is a nice spot but service was hit and miss.
At first I was hoping a table would open up, but I’m so glad we ended up having our dinner at the bar because every single employee went above and beyond to create a great experience. We felt very well taken care of. Besides the amazing service and welcoming atmosphere (also great music); let’s move on to the amazing food!
As I mentioned we thought it was a Spanish restaurant, but I will call it an eclectic European experience in Newport beach that transports you. The owner is Italian, the wine list has no Spanish wines( they should consider some good cava like Gramona or Juve y Camps) but they have a great selection of Italian and French wines which we enjoyed. The food is Spanish tapas with a twist. The chef is Filipino and he is amazing( our compliments to the chef ) We may have ordered one of each on the menu. Well worth it!
We started with the jamon iberico (it was served at the proper temperature and it melts in your mouth, I wanted more) We had the patatas bravas, croquetas, the truffle bikini, pan con tomate…The star was the tuna! So so good I can’t even describe it. The gambas we’re also delicious and the sauce they are served with is devine. My husband enjoyed the creme brulee and I enjoyed the olive oil cake with a yummy espresso martini.
Thank you for creating a memorable dinner experience!
You MUST try their Olive Oil Cake! So rich and surprising. Perfectly paired with a mint tea and cappuccino.
We were treated to one last perfect touch when the sommelier brought out a Vermouth di Italia that transported me right back to the balcony overlooking the canals of Venice.
CasaDami has added a much needed touch of uniqueness to the Newport Beach food scene.
