I really wanted to like Peking Chinese Restaurant, but unfortunately the food was a major letdown. The sesame chicken was soggy and coated in a sauce that just tasted off, lacking the balance and flavor you’d expect from a classic dish. The hot and sour soup was average at best—nothing memorable—though I will say the portion size was decent.
On the positive side, the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the menu is very large with plenty of options to choose from. Sadly, none of that makes up for the quality of the food. What was served felt like dollar-scoop Chinese food, except priced at 10–15 times more than it’s worth.
Even dollar-scoop Chinese food usually gets the flavors right, even if it isn’t the freshest. Here, the food was clearly freshly cooked, but unfortunately the flavor was just plain bad.
Great service and variety can’t compensate for disappointing execution in the kitchen. I left feeling like I seriously overpaid for a meal that missed the mark.

Fried rice here has too much oil. Even though I requested to have less oil, there is lot of oil in the food. It is bad for customers health. Please change it.

The dishes were good sized portions. Great taste. We liked the House Low Mein a lot as well as the Rangoons and Hot and Sour Soup.

I ordered the steak fried rice. It was good, but nothing stand out. The steak wasn’t cut up very much so there were giant pieces of it throughout the rice, making it not dispersed very evenly, and was cooked so much it was like gray meat. Tastes good when drenched with soy sauce but I think Asian city in town does a better steak fried rice.

I went with a friend and ordered takeout through the driveway when we parked and started eating we realized our lo Mein tasted very off (it tasted like literal sewer water). So we bring our plates in and request new ones, we were kind and polite when we asked. They proceed to take our box’s to the back scrape off the noodles and slap white rice on the place where the lo mein was leaving bits of noodles. This just caused the rice to taste the same as the noodles. They were rude and acted as if we were in the wrong for bringing up the quality of the food.

I’ve been wanting Chinese for awhile and i decided I was going to try this spot when i went back to Nacogdoches.
The food was fresh…but I’m use to the Chinese places in Houston, you can actually eat off those plates at least twice. The taste was average probably would fo again if I didn’t have a choice. The plates here were small and pricey to me. I also didn’t like the fact that I was charged extra to replace pork instead of beef. I ordered general tso’s chicken with house fried rice (extra $3.50) and it comes with shrimp, chicken and beef…I wanted pork instead. It would have been different if they would have told me it was going to cost $1.50 to get pork, I didn’t see it until later when I looked at my receipt. I also ordered egg rolls(didn’t like), beef and broccoli(beef was tender), and house lo mein for my boyfriend. In the pics, you can see how small their containers are compared to regular size containers you get from other restaurants.

Have eaten here many times. The food is good. The amount served is enough to fill up… I like the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff. The price is great.

One of my favorite Nac restaurants. The food here is amazing, I usually try something new on the menu every time I come, and it’s always great. This time I got the hot and sour pork, which was delicious. I also had the hot and sour soup. Peking’s hot and sour soup is the best, it’s a must try. I’ve been to so many Chinese restaurants, and none have soup as good as this place.
