After the gym, if I want to eat healthy and something lighter, I always prefer Cafe Rio. It’s way better than Chipotle or other Mexican fast-food places. It’s fresh, they grill the tortilla with cheese for burritos or salad bowls. Most places make burritos cold, which I don’t like. Their sauces are delicious and add different flavor. This place is always full and busy, but there’s less waiting. Also, if you download the app, you’ll get points and very good deals. Mostly free drink and chips are included on the deals. Their drinks and desserts are good too.

Disgusting. Taco was dripping wet and soggy. Everything was ice cold despite priority delivery. Cilantro stems. I really didn’t want to have to turn my meal into a salad, and even when I tried it was still nasty. Do not recommend.

They don’t care to actually take the time to make your order correctly unless you physically walk in and double check the order.
The food is good but you have to double check literally everything every single time and I go there often…It’s very frustrating. I wish they had a manager that actually overlooked things better because when it’s correct, the food is good. But 5/5 times I’ve ordered delivery, 5/5 times I’ve done online pick up AND 5/5 times id gone through drive through, every single time I have had to bring it back for them to correctly make it. (And I don’t mean one small issue— it’s huge issues every time IE: wrong meat, wrong ingredients, missing items entirely etc.)
Know I go there knowing it’s wrong before even checking it and that’s not OK!… no one has time for that, it’s pure laziness on staffs end

Just ordered delivery and let me show you receipt versus what I got – this is why I’m finally leaving a review in hopes for them to do better

(Pic is soup supposed to be shredded beef and instead it’s CHICKEN which I won’t eat
Not to mention arrived cold and half ass full.
Also, missing my entire taco meal,
Missing rice AND beans. missing my kids quesadilla, all of the sides and clearly this taco does not have the melted cheese or anything I requested on or in it) The entire order garbage at this point.
The elotes came half full as well. It’s crap entirely

I love this place. I travel to Spokane for business regularly, and I always have dinner here at least once or twice per trip. Good value for the price given the food quality, portion sizes, and service experience.

The bowls are my favorite, by far the best I’ve had in any fast-casual Mexican chain. I’ve tried all the meat combinations and enjoyed every one, but I prefer the barbacoa. The mint limeade is outstanding, too.

The staff at this location are super consistent in how they prep/assemble the food. Generally a young staff with great personalities. I get great service every time, and I’ve been here a lot.

In the far-off land of Spokane Valley, beyond the traffic lights and strip malls, there lies a sacred temple of flavor known only to the initiated as Cafe Rio. Travelers speak of its fresh tortillas, made daily like edible spell scrolls, and meats so tender they could end family arguments.
One fateful day, guided only by hunger and questionable life choices, I set forth on a quest. As I approached, I saw it: a line. Not a dragon to be feared, but a beacon of quality—a sure sign that many had come before me and survived, happily clutching burritos and salads like trophies. The line moves quickly, like a well-organized adventuring party; blink and you’re already at the counter choosing your destiny.
There, behind the glass, stand the guardians of good vibes—the staff. They do not merely “take orders”; they consult, recommend, and share their own favorites like wise mentors sending you off on a flavor journey. Their friendliness feels less like customer service and more like joining a guild where everyone happens to smell faintly of cilantro and victory.
At the Spokane Valley location in particular, the crew deserves its own epic poem. Efficient without rushing you, cheerful without being fake, and fast without making you feel like you’re on a game show timer, they turn the simple act of “grabbing dinner” into a tiny, everyday hero’s tale. You walk in hungry and slightly tired; you walk out full, satisfied, and wondering when you can justify coming back again.
So yes, there is a line. There is a line because they are good. And when the craving calls once more, you will answer—returning to the Spokane Valley Cafe Rio like a seasoned warrior to a trusted inn, ready for one more glorious burrito-fueled adventure.

If I could leave 0 I would! I am so unbelievably frustrated with this place. I would say 25% or less of the time they actually get the order right in the drive through. Nachos are almost never melted..period. My wife came home with hers today and we literally had to put them in the oven to melt the cheese. The sauces are never correct, and on the subject of sauces their ranch is as watery as can be now. I have no idea what has happened the last few months but it has taken a sharp turn downward. I grew up in Utah where this restaurant originated and it has taken an absolute dive from its original quality in just the last 6 months. Won’t be going back!

2.6.24: First time in and absolutely loved everything! The sweet pulled pork barbacoa was absolutely my fav and had such a great taste and flavor. I ordered a tostada with sweet barbacoa, my friend had a burrito with sweet barbacoa, and we shared an order of nachos with fire grilled chicken. Service was awesome and I loved the ambience as I was surprised to hear my music playing in the background. I can’t wait to come back to try all the other tasty sounding things on the menu.

All my beef on my salad was 1 piece of gristle and fat so I hardly got any meat at all. They didn’t chop my lettuce. They basically tore it and big huge pieces and when I went to go get my to go order there was five other people in one Cashier. Don’t know what they’ve been up to, but last time I ate here I had a chicken bone in my boneless chicken, soft taco and every experience that I’ve been having every time has been getting worse and worse. They better pull their heads out. Also, I’m gonna lose the restaurant and they were very good at first now they in
