Stopped at Evans New York Style Deli for a quick bite in Marblehead . fast, friendly, and really good food. The roast beef sandwich alone is worth the trip.

I was looking for a New York style deli and found it – drove 30+ minutes from the Merrimack Valley. The interior was sparsely appointed but I was here for take-out so it didn’t matter. I ordered half a dozen sandwiches and some sides. Other reviewers have commented on the brusque service. To me, that added to the NY ambiance. The person taking the order sounded impatient and when asked for a slight modification to one sandwich, looked up at me from the order pad as if I had asked to turn lead into gold, pushed back a bit, and then made the change. Some of the sandwiches were a bit pricey, but we all enjoyed their portion size and freshness. The sides, coleslaw and potato salad, were good as well. On a minor note, I would have appreciated an itemized receipt when purchasing 9 items instead of just the total. I’m not in the area often, but if I were, I would return.

The best thing about Evans Deli was a young woman who works there. My husband had a stroke recently & has significant hand tremors .I was looking for a fork & knife for him& this gal said she would bring them over ( I was trying to figure out where the cream was for coffee).
When I returned to table my husband told me she offered to cut up his bagel. WOW..what an act of kindness. He declined, but both of us were so appreciative!
Its too bad other staff aren’t that nice. The man( ? owner) was rude to me. Very condescending to me because I couldn’t find the cream.
Smart water cooler is tucked into the side. When I was paying, I misspoke the name of my sandwich & he was not pleased.
Give me a break..I’m a senior woman . Ageism strikes again.
2 young non- English speaking women came in & he was very helpful to them.
Food was good, not great for the price , but I will never go back there again.
Im glad we live in Danvers ( my grandson calls it Niceville)
We will be staying in town to spend our money.

This was definitely not what I expected. While I didn’t anticipate it to be as vibrant nor photogenic as the photo on Uber, I did expect it to more closely resemble what was advertised on the app with actual slices of salmon (and not bits). This felt visually misleading, and I’m not sure whether to blame the restaurant, Uber or even myself for ordering. Either way, I won’t be ordering this sandwich again. I’ll probably try a different sandwich next time.
Giving 2 stars since I’m sure the staff was excellent and the food did come quickly, however product was not as expected given no description besides Uber photo reference.

Ordered a reuben. Biggest, most delicious sandwich ever. And thank heavens they used Russian, not thousand island.
They were busy, phone ringing, people in line. But the guy behind the counter kept it moving. Super courteous, with amazing food. I wish I lived closer to Marblehead!

Was driving by at just past 10 am with a hungry belly, figured “Why not, it’s Friday”. 2 very nice ladies were behind the counter, and a few folks in line. I was asked if I was ready to order, and was let known breakfast or lunch is not a problem. I went with the Mixed Marriage sandwich. This beauty had the meats, brisket, bacon, ham, and some veggies with a horseradish sauce on an onion roll. Sandwich was a thing of beauty, well made, not too messy, and quality ingredients in proper proportions. The only critique I have is the pickle was a bit lack luster. I wish I took a picture, but I wasn’t expecting a sandwich with brisket to be that good at 10am. I plan to stop and try more specialty sandwiches if I am in the area again, and recommend anyone reading this review do the same. Evan’s Deli has the meats!
