I have been stalking their online menu for a couple days so we came into this joint ready! Walking in, this place is massive! It’s very bright and very clean. They have quite the system for diners, to go orders and food delivery pick up. There was a direction for each purpose so you don’t have guests just walking all over the place. We did come later in the afternoon but you can tell this place was poppin for lunch earlier. We were acknowledged by the lady at the kitchen with a couple menus. She directed us to our table. I did breeze over the menu one more time but I knew what I was getting.
I decided to step out of the box today and get the combination flat rice noodles. I love big, fat chewy rice noodles. It looks like it comes with a little bit of everything, protein wise. My daughter ordered the Bun bo hue. They come in 3 sizes so she went with the large. The bowls are on display but at the height they were at, it was hard to really see their true size.
We did start off with some egg rolls. They weren’t the most delicately plated but they looked good. They were massive chunks of them. The texture of the wrapper was nice and crunchy. The filling was savory. The dipping sauce was a perfect addition to the egg roll. I do wish it came with lettuce like cha gio. It would elevated the egg roll.
My daughter’s bowl of bun bo hue was huge! They put our little pho shops back in to shame. Her bowl was loaded! She got a beef rib, Vietnamese meat loaf, beef brisket and a few other things. The broth was rich in color and was told it was spicy! It looked hearty! She also got a side of fresh herbs and veggies to go with it. It was a beautiful bowl of bun bo hue.
My noodles looked like chow fun to me, one of my favorite Chinese dishes. It looked and smelled delicious! Each noodle was covered and sauced. The shrimp looked plump. Nice pieces of chicken and beef through out the dish. I enjoyed the bean sprouts and green onion for the extra sweetness. The chili oil and lime was also such a nice addition to the noodles. Initially looking at the plate, you don’t think you got a lot but you do! It was so much and I’m happy to be able to finish these noodles for dinner.
The fact that this joint is right across the street from us makes me just want to try everything off their menu. Walk over, eat and then head home. No driving or GPS needed, so convenient. The staff is great and they have their system down like a well oiled machine. I look forward to my next meal here! I’m sure it’s going to be good!
Food is really good and service is equally good as well. It doesn’t have a very visible sign and may be hard to notice at night though.
What a letdown. This was my favorite spot, but the last two orders have been horrible. The first bad order I didn’t even say anything, but I ordered a veggie and tofu pho and it has 3 tiny pieces of tofu.
And just now I ordered the tofu sesame appetizer – and you can tell they cut the tofu up and only gave me half the amount. I’ve ordered from here for years and it’s normally tofu sticks, but you can see from my photo they chopped them up so they only served me less than half. Unreal!! I won’t ever return.
The atmosphere and service were wonderful! I can’t emphasize enough how highly we recommend Pho 33! I promise that if you love pho like me, Pho 33 is going to become your new favorite! Whether for takeout or dining in. Pho 33 is my new go to for pho!
