BEWARE OUT OF TOWN CONSUMERS!!!

I ordered from this place on July 3rd, the food was good… fast forward to July 6th my mini wanted a repeat, we ordered pasta and I order the fish sandwich with fries. This order took place over the phone. I was asked what I wanted on the fish, I said whatever comes on it, the gentleman taking my order over the phone said oh you don’t want anything on it, I said you don’t put anything on the fish? I then said put cheese, tartar sauce and pickles on the fish. I asked for hot sauce on the side. The gentleman gave me my total and said my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived early, requested the pickles be put on the side as well, and then paid (I noticed the price changed. I was handed the receipt and saw I was charged $0.50 for each condiment that generally comes customary on a fish sandwich.

The food was good but I hate establishments that nickel and dime patrons without clearly stating the specifics.

*I was going to leave a stellar review for the place initially as the food was pretty good, after my visit on July 6th, my family and I will never dine here again when we are visiting in the area.

As far as the ambiance, it’s a “mom and pop” dinner set-up without the charisma, warmth and customer service of a “mom and pop” establishment.

I will preface this with saying I almost never complain about restaurant experiences, especially because I was a manager at a pizza place myself for years and I have ordered from this location many times and have always had great experiences and delicious food.. up until tonight 2/28. I placed my order for delivery, nothing crazy, just a pizza, some fries, and a dessert. They warned me the wait may be awhile which I understood as it was a weekend and let the woman on the phone know that was fine with me and went ahead and paid for it. When the food finally arrived I asked my roommate who just got home and didn’t know I had even ordered anything to grab it since I was busy at the moment so they weren’t aware of what was supposed to be in the order to be able to ask the driver about it on the spot. When I got out of the bathroom I realized the driver completely forgot my pizza and that my fries were rock hard and ice cold so I called the restaurant and told them. I wasn’t really upset at this point because I figured they are busy and mistakes happen, everyone’s human an as long as I get my food it’s no big deal to me.
At first i was told the pizza would be sent out but that the fries wouldn’t be replaced because the employee could not give out free food because she was not a manager so I asked to speak to one and was told there wasn’t one available.. which is kind of crazy to me in itself because why wouldn’t there always be a manager on shift if there are things a regular employee can’t take care of? Anyway, after a couple mins of waiting for her to call her manager to get permission to handle the issue. When she called back she told me the pizza would be brought back to me, they were sending new fries and I would receive a $10 credit under my phone number. Not long after my pizza did show up, but the fries did not. Unfortunately the pizza was ice cold too.. so I called the restaurant again and was told she was texting the driver to let them know they still had the bag of fries to bring back but the woman did tell me the driver who originally brought my order had clocked out and left for the night so the new driver was doing a favor by bringing my pizza back at all so she said “hopefully he’ll bring the fries back to you” and I said okay despite that being strange and hung up. A few moments later she called and said the driver refused to bring the fries out to me because it “wasn’t his order originally and he wasn’t being compensated for it properly”, which although I understand his frustration I felt it was unprofessional for me to even be told this information. The woman offered to bring them out herself when she was off work (about 40 mins from the time of the phone call) or they would just refund my entire order. After all of the problems with the order by this point I said just forget the fries and I’ll take the refund. She did say that a manager would contact me in the morning to discuss this and issue me a refund since she didn’t have the ability to do it for me tonight so as of right now I haven’t had a complete resolution to the issue but even if I do get the refund tomorrow.. I just feel like the entire thing was not handled well and it has really made me second guess ordering in the future which really sucks because the food has always been very good and I really haven’t had any issues prior to this one so I hope the management there can do something to prevent something like this from happening in the future. Employees shouldn’t be stuck having to tell customers they can’t resolve their issues because a manager isn’t present or working with other employees that just straight up refuse to help fix a problem whether it’s “their order” or not. I really don’t blame the woman on the phone at all because it seems like she tried her best to help but there wasn’t much she could do without a manager and without a cooperative delivery driver.. so I hope nothing negative comes back on her

The food was hot, which is good. Unfortunately, that’s the only positive thing I can say about it. The coleslaw was extremely bland, the French fries stale and had no salt, the fish was rubbery, and the Alfredo was missing the mushrooms that were requested and paid for.

I can’t answer about atmosphere except that I was greeted warmly. I usually order the margarita pizza or a stromboli. They are always so good. I can tell the dough is fresh bc I heat it in the microwave and it is just like the day before when it was delivered. Very thankful for good service and food.

Poliseno’s Pizzeria is one of the best unique eateries in Milford, Delaware. This place advertises NY type pizza and other items.

We’ve eaten here a few times. It is usually a quiet place with several tables and a few booths. The staff members are typically pleasant, and they will help you with menu selections and explanations.

The menu offers a broad selection, and the prices are reasonable.

We usually order Calzone. They are well- made, and the portion size is plentiful.

And they always have amazing deals. Look at their website. Best prices in town.

Marouane took my order and was very knowledgeable on the food and gave me the approximate time the pizza will be ready. The pizza has plenty of topping and sauce. The downside is that it’s not remarkable, it was bland lacking the flavor you would expect. The crust was crispy but almost mimic bland toast. The price is compatible with other pizza places. The restaurant is small and is nothing rememberable.

About 2 months ago the cashier tried to act like she wouldn’t switch out the boneless wings i accidentally ordered instead of bone-ins because she “already put in the order” i shit you not when I called immediately back within the 30 seconds of hanging up the phone the 1st time. All they hire are teens. Food is good but nothing that is worth their overpriced rates. Don’t get me wrong it’s good, but it’s not worth the price.

I want to start by saying we LOVE Polisenos! They have a huge variety of food, and their pizza is delicious.

There is one thing that I really feel needs addressed though – their cannolis. I’m going to reference a wonderful place in georgetown I recently went to for lunch. I ordered a cannoli for dessert and the cannoli filling was falling out the sides, there was SO much filling it was amazing. I figure that’s a way to make sure your customer leaves REALLY happy.

Now.. the one I got from Polisenos was the SADDEST around, which made me sad 🙁 It was like they intently cleaned the sides up with a spatula or something after filling. And there was a big gap in the middle without filling at all. So the filling to shell ratio was way off. And if the ratio is going to be off, I’d much rather it be the other way around…more filling than shell! It literally feels like they’re intentionally being skimpy on the filling and when spending money, people don’t like to feel ripped off. It’s a good way to ensure they don’t come back.

I will go back, but I will think twice about ordering dessert 🙁

Also.. these pictures are from two different times there, so it wasn’t a fluke! I didn’t finger the filling at all before taking the picture, Al though I did take a bite out of the other side on the one before thinking to take a picture.
