I had gone to the El Toro that’s 15 minutes away. The one I attended was small, so I was rather surprised when I walked into this restaurant. What also took me by surprise is that they had an upstairs place. The atmosphere here is that of your traditional Mexican restaurants. All the employees have similar uniforms. Everyone here was a professional. A group of 11 people came in at the same time, and I saw them make a table on the fly. There was no waiting area. I placed my order and was taken off guard when they out in about 10 minutes. I ended up taking leftovers home. Just ask for a box, and they will give you as many as needed. The menu is a little fast on the menu. Just pause it and see it more clearly. Payment will be in the form of cash or credit card. I would come back here and would recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Mexican food. The chips and salsa are delicious. Don’t worry about spicy salsa.

Worst service everrrr!! ‍ do not visit this place, they treat their customers like they’re obligated to work. The tortilla was burned and hard, it looked like a tostada, do not waste your time

Terrible salsa, it was watery, had huge pieces/chunks of tomatoes, seriously, we had a half of a tomato in our salsa, very, very disappointing. Looked like someone forgot to blend it. Have they changed their recipe? The rest of our meal was good. Restaurant needs a deep/thorough cleaning. The carpet is disgusting, very dirty. Restrooms are just as bad. It seems this location is worn down, used, very old and not very well maintained.

Went here for a birthday (for someone who will always pick Mexican lol) and it was generally good. Tasty fajitas and they made a 4 year old happy with wings and ice cream. The one issue was that late in the visit they just seemed to forget us. Took over 20 minutes between finishing dessert and getting a check on a rather quiet night. That needs to be fixed because the rest was pretty good.

This is a nice place to come for great Mexican food and a 20 oz Cadillac margarita! This restaurant can accommodate large groups. They also feature different floors for dining. The staff was very attentive and friendly. It was also very close to the hotel zone.

This is a fantastic place to eat, just a short drive north from downtown Dayton. I eat lunch here occasionally since it is close to my office. The food is always delicious and comes out fast. The waiters are always polite and attentive. I never had to ask for a refill, they always beat me to it. Great food, great service and a good price.

I am a big fan of Mexican and TexMex food, therefore I’m very critical, which is the only reason I gave the food a 4. If I had to say I give it 8.5 out of 10. I ordered the monster burrito and it lived up to the name. The plate filled me up very well. My server was on point and the experience overall was great. Also, you’re not waiting for a long time for food to be prepared. That’s always a plus in my book.

We really wanted to like this place more than we did. The atmosphere was so much fun, vibrant, and felt lively. We were really excited the minute we stepped in the door.

And that is as far as we had to get before it started to fall apart. We stood there for about 10 minutes while servers walked around us, and the person at the reception area was busy doing something on the computer in front of her. Never even tried to make eye contact with us.

Finally, she turned and yelled at a group of servers and told one to get over and seat us. So he did.

We sat for another 20 minutes before our server came to take our order. That was the last time we saw him. Food was delivered by another person, and that was the end of service.

The food was incredibly disappointing. I LOOKED good, but I can only describe the cheese in the chile relleno as processed, and the tortillas as generic. Honestly, some of the worst Mexican food I have had in a while.

After waiting another good 20 minutes after we were finished and no sign of the waiter, I got up and went back to the host stand while she continued to ignore me. FINALLY someone walked up and asked what I needed and I simply said, “to pay for my food.”

He found our server, and the server came over and handed me the check, with no apology, or even a care. And although this place was ripe for someone to dine-and-dash, I did the right thing and paid the $60 bill, and we left.

As we were walking to the car my husband informed me that while I was trying to pay, the man at the table next to us was telling the server that he refused to pay for his food because it was so awful and they had waited for so long.

So we weren’t the only ones not happy with the establishment.

Not sure why there are such high reviews here, but I would say stay away and hit the chili joint next to it.

For touting that this is voted as Dayton Ohio best mexican restaurant it was a little underwhelming. Nothing spectacular. food was ok. a little bland and the chicken was dry in the enchiladas which was super strange. we came in at lunch time and wasn’t busy at all and the service was not very good. on a scale of 1-10 it was about 6

Was in town for work & tried this place out. Food wasn’t as spicy as I would have preferred. I got the birria tacos. They were decent. Beans and rice were good. Salsa was decent but not spicy at all. ️ The service was meh. The waitress seemed quite perturbed by our presence which never makes for a fun time but I was in good company so I’ll say I ignored the atmosphere. Sounded like the rest of the place was having fun. There’s a patio. The restaurant has fun decor. If you like Mexican food that isn’t spicy this is your place! Worth checking out.
