⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great food, exceptional service, and honest pricing—a total win!
We visited Ray’s – BBQ, Brews & Blues on January 18th, 2026, and I can honestly say we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. Even though it was a fairly busy night, the host stand was organized, and we were seated in a decent amount of time, which set a great tone for the evening.
One thing that stood out immediately was the atmosphere. The building was very clean and well-maintained, and you could tell the staff genuinely enjoy working there. Everyone seemed to be working together well, and the vibe was just positive and inviting. There is also a very large, impressive bar area that looked like a great spot to hang out if you’re waiting for a table or just grabbing a drink.
Our waitress was excellent—super friendly and very attentive to everything we asked for, never letting our drinks run low despite how busy the floor was. As for the food, it did not disappoint. I ordered the burger and fries, and it was fantastic—cooked perfectly. My girlfriend decided to try the salmon, and she actually said it was the best she’s ever had, which is high praise coming from her!
We had a group of four at our table, and when the bill came, we were pleasantly surprised. For all of our food plus a few drinks, the total was around $115. Compared to the prices at a lot of other places nowadays, that is excellent value for the quality of food and service we received.
It’s rare to find a spot that hits the mark on food, service, and price all at once. We will definitely be back!

Good BBQ options. Our waitress was amazing. Very patient, explained the menu, gave her personal opinions on dishes that was super helpful and spot on. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. Would like to come back during summer months. They have an outdoor seating next to the canal. We would totally recommend this place.

I just had the best brisket sandwich of my life at this smokehouse – The Beast! The service was wonderful, thanks to Lacey, who made our visit even better. And let’s talk about those fries… perfectly crispy and the ranch? Best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for top-notch BBQ.

Outstanding experience at Ray’s BBQ. Tori was our server. She was super accommodating and nice. My daughter said her “grilled cheese was the best I ever had.” I loved the Making The Pig Time sandwich. It came with a caddy of sauces. I liked being able to try them all. My Moscow Mule was great and my daughter loved their Shirley Temple. The subtle blues music by the river was a great vibe. Can’t wait to return.
Edit: (because I cant leave two reviews) Back again!! Got the pork shoulder. Omg. What a value. I received so much food! The mules are still amazing. I had Summer as a server this time. She was super attentive. ☀️ I live a county over. Everytime I’m in Grayling, I stop at Ray’s. They never disappoint!

Great dining in Grayling, Michigan! The beer choices and cocktails were plentiful. Love how many drinks were cherry infused by the local crop.
The 3 sauces they give you were all delicious and definitely had my favorite one. The brisket, ribs, pulled pork, chicken, etc were all delicious and the sides we had an issue trying to pick (because they all were amazing). Handicap, kid and overall pleasant friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Waiting was long we were during northern strike but it was worth it the food was great my buddy that is a fat ass with a infinite appetite was completely full. I think they do not need to hire a dishwasher cause he cleaned completely the plate. Our server Ellie was really gently and apologized for the delayed food an brought us some of their delicious corn bread, she had a really nice attitude even if she had multiple tables at the same time. Please give her a hi5. Tonight I’ll go sleep super good and tomorrow I’ll pay the conscience but I’ll remember the taste of the brisket and I’ll say. “It was worth it”

First time stopping at Rays. The food was absolutely amazing. Mumbo Jumbo Gumbo very, very good. Best bloody mary we’ve had in awhile. Our waitress was top notched! Prices are unbeatable for the quality and quantity of food and drinks we had.Definitely worth the drive.
