We went for dinner on a Monday night when most other restaurants are closed. The atmosphere was great, small crowd and live music! It was a pleasure. The service was excellent, friendly and personable. We had appetizers, pasta and entrees. The food was great. We will certainly return and recommend to our friends.

This restaurant is under new ownership from what one of the staff told me. They are difinately a friendly staff here. Deck on the river is nice. On the food front: we didn’t eat much but I can review what I did try. The homeade bread is not italian at all and was not very good. The fettuccini alfredo was good, but the chicken parm was not good at all. Breading was soft and gross, chicken was thick, not pounded, the sauce is kind of bland, and the pasta over cooked. Wonder if they even make the chicken parm there or if it comes out of a frozen bag. Alfredo was good, lots of garlic which I like. While you can’t expect much in a small Bellows Falls town they can do better. The experience was nice and sitting on the deck looking at the river and mountains is also very nice – but you can do that with a picnic lunch of your own making at a nice park.

We live locally and want this restaurant to be our favorite restaurant, we want to love it and support it. But they don’t make it easy. We went on Friday night, last night, for dinner before the movie in town. The woman who greets people at the door wouldn’t look up from what she was doing, she seemed to be compiling instructions for an imminent rocket launching, and another man who walked over to confer with her – either a waiter, or owner, or other staff – didn’t ever look at us or greet us – no smile or welcome acknowledgment that we existed … finally the hostess looked up at us and said only: do you have a reservation. Nothing else. We didn’t, & she only said: it’s a 30 min wait. She didn’t offer seat at the bar, no thank you for coming, no encouragement to make a reservation next time, nothing, seemed no one working at the restaurant could care less whether we are going to come back, couldn’t care less that we thought about this restaurant for our night out. It’s really too sad that customers aren’t cared about. We just smiled and left. The restaurant we went to nearby was total opposite – hostess had huge smile when we entered, and asked if we had reservation and then helped us make it work for a lovely dinner. All the other staff had welcoming smiles for us and everyone else who entered, reservation or not. Rochet launched!

My wife made a reservation at 7:19 last night after calling twice with no answer. She received an email confirmation for the reservation for 8:30 PM. We arrived at this establishment at 8:22 PM to see a dark restaurant. We walked out back to the outdoor seating area and were greeted by a rude hostess and I’m assuming the manger to inform us that the kitchen was closed. We mentioned we had made a reservation and the guy rudely responds ‘oh sorry it didn’t go through’. He could have cared less. This is the problem with restaurants these days, nobody cares because there’s no leadership in their management. It was 8:30 on a Saturday night. Do yourself a favor forks, close the doors save the public their time. A complete joke, and the staff clearly could have cared less. Here’s an idea tho. Have someone check your online reservations. Many people utilize them these days. Overall this is a true 0 star review.

We went to an 80’s themed prom night! What a blast from the past! Food was good, dancing great and a good DJ. The back deck is a great feature to step outside, especially in the summer time.
