3/26 – DON’T drive past this place, it was wonderful. Here for lunch so wasn’t too crowded and got to sit outside. Ordered a 4x sampler as we like to taste what we can. Fried scallops, grilled shrimp, coconut shrimp, clam strips; can’t tell you one was a favorite over the other. Pair odrinks to make it better. Service was great, weather was perfect, couldn’t be happier.

Hub and I wanted Seafood for dinner and revisited Dan’s. This place is so quaint and an old school style Florida dive. It is a gem of a place, so cool to see the Tiki Hut gazebo when you want to eat outside, it’s all lit up at night. Inside has that Florida decor all over the place and a nice fish tank. Wooden booths and a small bar with high top chairs for your consideration. Wooden tables and more booths farther in the back of the restaurant. Our waitress was so nice and attentive to us. We ordered our food and it came in a timely fashion, nice and hot!! I ordered the Colossal fried shrimp, love the red shrimp,they in my opinion are sweeter. I also ordered a dinner portion of onion rings. The shrimp were just outstanding and the batter was delicious and Dan’s has the best onion rings bar none!! Hot, sweet and great batter. They give you like a remoulade dipping sauce,yum! Hub got the Cod fish and chips with coleslaw, huge portion and delicious. Let’s just say that our meals met our expectations and then some and service was excellent. Highly recommend coming here, food, Florida atmosphere is top notch! Debbie

Our first ever experience at Dan’s – Valentine’s Day –
We arrived about 1:30 in the afternoon & it was already slammed. We were a party of 2 and were able to sit quickly, as we chose the bar. Servers never stopped moving, we saw smiles on their faces the whole time, even through the madness. We order crab bites for apps, the portion was big & they were good. My husband ordered the 1 lb lobster with green beans, and I ordered the 1 lb lobsters roll (hot) with fries. They both were amazing! One of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had. We both left full and happy.

1st time here and both of us were excited. Stared with a dozen raw oysters. They were shucked perfectly and they were fresh. We then got a bowl of new england clam chowder and it was smooth, creamy and absolutely Devine. Next up was the fried clam strips which were golden brown and delicious. And for our entre, we ordered the 1 lb lobster roll sandwich. It was visually and tastefully delicious. All served by some of the best servers in the business. Back of the house folks got it down! Absolutely looking forward to coming back again.

EAT HERE ! lobster, shrimp and clams OH MY ! We met Dan on this trip and the CHEF John. The onion rings and special sauce are to die for !!! Clam Chowder yummy ! Clam bellies & strips & cheese curds is what we had today. Tonight we are going back for the Cioppino. Our waitress Susan was amazing ! Dan retired and sold the place but nothing has changed but a few nice upgrades. The new owner and his family have an amazing story. They kept all their old employees and didn’t change anything except to enhance the employees job atmosphere.
In a world where it seems like no one cares about their job anymore or attention to details everyone at Dan’s clam shack acts like they really love their job and care about giving you the best meal possible. 5 stars all the way.
If you’re any anywhere in the vicinity of 100 miles of this area, Dan and Crystal River it’s definitely worth the trip.

Lovely lunch with my family. The service and waitresses were excellent and the food was delicious. I only wish that I knew the grilled shrimp would be doused in butter sauce… Nonetheless it was still delicious!

Food was good. We had the recommended fried clam strips, and shrimp po boy sandwhich.Large variety menu, VERY friendly service, prices are average for seafood. Could use a little updating in the restaurant. But it does offer that ‘clam stand’ feel. I didn’t like that they used lysol to clean the tables,(while eating) trust me, Appreciate the attempt to sanitize, but there are other sanitizing products that are unscented. Just my honest opinion. They do have streetside outdoor seating.

We love Dans Clam stand! It doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is cute old school comfort and clean. Food is always good. Mostly a seafood menu with plenty of options. My wife and I ate lunch Friday. I had blackened grouper tacos, with fresh green beans and onion rings. Tacos were what appeared to be fresh grouper with just the right amount of seasoning. Onion rings were lightly breaded and tasted great! My wife had Chicken sandwich & fresh potato cut fries. We shared Bom Bom shrimp for an appetizer which is a must, the sauce is so good. Service is always great, Happy Birthday Tiffany!!

Everything was excellent. We arrived on a rainy day so we couldn’t enjoy the outside area, but the inside was nice and cozy as well. The food was excellent and the serving sizes were large. Our server was great and attentive. We will definitely be back for some whole belly clams and steamed clams.
