This place is one of the most historic community based restaurants I’ve ever been to. It’s clear talking to the patrons, that it is the one go to place for lunch, breakfast and dinner in the community. Located on rural Route 340, it caters to locals and passers by in equal numbers. Stopping in during lunch, I tried their cheesesteak which was excellent, and although I ordered the sauce on the side, it really made a difference. My meal included a classic corn chowder bowl, which was spot on and delicious. I also ordered the loaded fries and was pleased by the size of the serving. The onion rings were crumb-breaded rather than batter fried, which I prefer, but were tasty all the same.
If you were traveling route 340 on your way to Lancaster or intercourse, I would highly recommend making a stop here along the way you’ll truly enjoy the experience.

Authentic Small Cafe that gets packed out at times. Very friendly, and welcoming staff. The food is incredible!!! They have the best mashed potatoes this side of the Mississippi River.

The food was good but the portions were small. The dessert list is misleading at the top it says home-made desserts but not all ofbthem are made in house, they had orange tapioca on the list, and I specifically asked if it had some type of non dairy dessert topping in it since I don’t eat that. The waitress went back to the kitchen came back, said it did not.I tasted it.I could tell it.Did I had to ask to see the ingredients label?And yup, sure enough, there was a brand of non, dairy whip topping.That was the second ingredient
Also, the waitress seemed more interesting in socializing with the regulars than helping other customers.She talked with other customers for about five or six minutes before even acknowledging me and she was standing pretty much right at the next booth. Unless I am in the area and come back for breakfast.I highly doubt that I will eat here again

1st visit… Was recently told White Horse had great cheesesteaks. How true! Excellent flavor, perfect amount of steak and cheese, good onions and unique sauce. Slightly messy (always a plus). French fries were crispy. Very friendly staff!

The chef salad was amazing!! I have never gotten a salad as fresh or delicious as the one I ate here. Our table ordered a couple wraps, onion rings, soup and a cheese steak. Would definitely recommend it all!!

What a treat to find this place. Called ahead for closing time and was told to come on by. No lines no waiting. Atmosphere was homey and welcoming. Staff pleasant and accommodating. Real home cooking made from scratch that satisfied our souls. A definite revisit for the next visit to Lancaster PA. Stop by and be delighted.

As always, the staff at the Luncheonette delivered effortlessly. Everyone is always friendly. It is a relatively small space but the atmosphere is still laid back. They really seem to check all the boxes with ease.

Clean restaurant very quaint. My order was messed up when received; but, they tried to fix it right away. I ordered fried shrimp, mashed potatoes with gravy and a side salad. I got fried shrimp but they had yum yum sauce all over them, not what I ordered. They took my plate away and brought me back new shrimp, which were not drained properly after coming out of the fryer so the were swimming in oil. They gave me back the same mashed potatoes and gravy so they were cold. Needless to say I did not eat any of it.
The salad was good. The broccoli cheese bites were also good. My husband said his burger was good. The staff were friendly.

Our waitress heard me say I was going to share a burger and fries with my 5-year old, so she brought it out already cut and we each got our own pickle! So nice!
