I’ve been a loyal customer of Sushi Yokohama for years, and it consistently delivers. While they offer an all-you-can-eat option, the food quality is far from a typical buffet experience—everything is incredibly fresh , made to order ,and consistently delicious. Importantly, they offer both the all-you-can-eat menu and a regular menu option. The service is always top-notch, and the food quality never wavers. This is, without a doubt, one of my favorite sushi spots in Plano.
Highlights: seared salmon (yuuuum), cajun seared tuna, eel, fresh salmon and yellowtail sushi, Philly and shrimp tempura cut rolls, poke bowl (super fresh and simple! a frequent favorite!), all the hand rolls (scallop, samon skin, eel, crunch), mixed tempura
Prices are fantastic, especially the lunch specials. Service is hit and miss. Once in a while they can be kind of inattentive, but they’ve always been so nice to us over the years, I try to overlook the inconsistency.
4.5 stars, rounded up to 5 out of fondness for a place I enjoy visiting over and over.
The servers are very attentive and the chefs are quick. The presentation is beautiful! The restaurant is also very nicely decorated.
Adding more pictures. The menu has changed a bit since I’ve been. Prices are now $45/person for AYCE, as everything everywhere inflation strikes again. However don’t let that deter you! Many do a la carte and it’s worth it for lunch special or if you’re wanting very solid quality sushi and rolls without AYCE.
The nigiri and rolls have good rice ratio, the taste is great, and the service was good this time around.
2022 Review:
This place has been consistently good for me. I never had a moment where I thought the fish texture or smell was off. At the time I write this, I’ve been at least 3 times now.
The price has gone up, but so has everything else unfortunately. I always get All You Can Eat (AYCE) and I think it can be worth it if you’re ready for it
Food is good, rice ratio isn’t too high. The fish is soft and tasty. I can’t say I have a favorite roll, I’ve been trying different things on each visit so try different things out! Just be mindful about waste, there will be extra charge for wasted food so bring someone who can take clean up duty on dishes you don’t like hah.
On Friday/Saturday night, it can get pretty busy and there might be a wait so try and go for early or later dinner if you don’t want to wait. Service has gotten better the last time I went since there were more servers. One time there was only 2 servers for the whole restaurant and I can see they struggled a bit. Luckily here, there’s no time limit like some other places so it didn’t feel like a rush that you had to take every single minute to order and eat.
Overall been one of my favorite places to go get sushi even with the price increase.
02/06/24: this place has become one of my regular lunch place. Still has great prices and quality of the fish is excellent
07/24: had their lunch sushi roll combo. Good portion sizes. I couldn’t finish the last piece of Cali roll.
05/02: Came for lunch and had their Buy one special roll and get one regular roll meal. I ordered the Plano Roll and the yellow tail roll. The special roll was huge… Six pieces but I could barely fit them in my mouth! Lol. Fish was fresh and it’s been a long time since I spent less than $16 on a sushi lunch!
