This was a pleasant surprise for us. We are not from the area, and we’re looking for a place to eat for lunch. We love a good deli, especially an authentic one and we couldn’t be happier. We stumbled upon Jack’s. Our waitress Amy was absolutely fantastic and walked us through the menu and all the questions we had. They’re borscht although different from what I’m used to was absolutely fantastic! Everything we ate was absolutely perfect the knish, potato pancake, and my brisket dip sandwich was amazing! We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area! Thank you to the staff. We had a great experience!!!

Meghan was a wonderful server. She took our orders and was very pleasant. Jack’s is back!!! Thank you to the new owner! They have the right deli meats, bagels, rye bread and my favorite knishes. The New Yorker my wife ordered (corned beef, Cole slaw, thousand island on rye, It was gigantic, half was a meal. I had brisket on rye with a cup of mushroom barley soup (there cup Is anyone else’s bowl). I loved it. And our server brought out a bowl for my wife at no extra charge. We all decry the end of the deli. We’ll get to Jack’s. No small plates here! You might want to check times that they’re open. They’re open until 7 Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and until 3 the rest of the week.

Jacks is my all time favorite deli/corned beef sandwich. Thankfully the food itself hasn’t dropped off…. But my god, the service has fallen off a cliff.
No manager, no host, so system whatsoever. The two? servers at lunch service were stretched so thin they didn’t refill drinks at all.
Marc, please, for the love of god, hire a proper manager before you ruin the best deli in Ohio!

We look forward to getting Jacks every time we are in the area. Today, however, we went out of our way to make our annual stop at Jacks for take out sandwiches. We were disappointed from the first moment we called, when we were immediately put on hold for 5 minutes before we decided to just hang up and call back a little while later. The second time we called the phone was passed around before we were actually able to place the order, which was 2 New Yorkers with thousand island on the side and a Reuben.
When we went to pick it up, it was ready and I attempted to add an extra pickle to the order because I love them so much, but was told the meals came with a pickle so ended up not purchasing more. When we got home we were disappointed again to find no pickles and no sides AT ALL. Looking at the receipt, we saw it clearly said “no sides” but were confused because we never said that when ordering and every other time we have ordered take out it always came with potato salad and pickles. I’m particularly confused because I tried buying more pickles and was basically told by the staff not to? To top it off, my Rueben sandwich also came with no thousand island dressing or cheese…
If we had not been long time customers familiar with their quality and service in years passed, I would have probably let it go and know to never order from there again, but this is particularly frustrating because they have always been our favorite but this will be our last time ordering from them.

Excellent food, wait staff was so helpful with food selections… corned beef knish and cabbage rolls, and liver and onions and corned beef bfast was amazing… worth a visit!!!!!

The “old” Jack’s experience seems to be coming back. Had a great meal and our server Amy was as pleasant as always. Will definitely be coming back. Good Bialy’s bagels and a delicious omelette. If you haven’t been back yet, it’s time to go back and give it another try.

I really hate to post this, but the new owner needs to be made aware of some issues at Jack’s. I dined in once and another time, I took out. My partner had the pancakes, which he said were good. We both had hash browns, which were very good. I ordered scrambled eggs, lightly cooked, with swiss cheese. The eggs were overcooked to brown and the swiss was added in an odd way: the cheese was in three clumps. The bagel was okay; the cream cheese was great. I decided to take out a corned beef sandwich the next week. I said juicy and I also said not lean so that there would be no misunderstanding, on rye. There were only 2 people before me at the deli counter. After about 25 minutes of waiting there (!), I finally got my takeout order. The sandwich was lean and had about 25% corned beef crumbles – probably overcooked. It felt like they tucked the crumbles in between the lean slices to get rid of them. The rye bread looked good, but it oddly fell apart in my hands when I picked up the sandwich. It didn’t taste good either. One taste of the potato salad was enough for me.
I am really rooting for Mr. Apel, the new owner, but the kitchen really needs improvement. I hope he is paying attention. I will keep reading reviews before I come back.
