Such a hidden gem, they gave a little starter which surprised me. It was a puffy rice with pickled radishes and it was vaguely sweet? But crispy and good. Got the Yak Korma, brussels, chatpatey, garlic naan, and Buffalo Momos. All were so good

We stopped here after a very long day in transit then walking visiting sights. It is so so so delicious! The Palak Paneer is different, tastier and creamier. Th Cauliflower and lentils were amazing. We had the Yak moms and the pork belly which were also spiced very nicely. The appetizer was a fried Kale salad which sounds weird but it was the best thing!! Highly recommend this place! They even had beautiful paintings on the walls and looked like a nice bar. No wait time.

Honestly wasn’t that fan of the food. The best was the veg Manchurian appetizer we got, albeit it had 0 crisp factor.
The chicken jhol momos came in an ice cold sauce ? (Never in my life seen in cold). I asked if this was normal and the staff said yes! (I’ve had jhol momos in Nepal and NYC and both times they came steaming hot). But after asking, they heated up the sauce, but it was still barely warm. The dumpling itself was overcooked and all the dumplings on the table looked not freshly made as they were all very uniform. I wouldn’t be surprised if they came frozen. Not to mention such tiny momos for the price on a huge plate.
My friend order pan fried and they charged him extra on the bill without even saying anything.
Overall I found the food extremely mediocre.

Exceeds expectations! Food here is excellent, with some spice combinations that you would be hard pressed to find elsewhere.
Lamb saag and cauliflower are excellent. Both are savory and interesting, with cardamom in the saag and a little cumulative kick of heat in the cauliflower. Definitely try the crispy pork belly and the Yak Domo dumplings pictured here. And get naan to sop up all the sauces.

Very reasonable prices. Service was very good on a somewhat busy night. Free parking in local garage. One issue – trying to reserve online, there were no tables available, but we were able to walk right in. They may need to review their online reservation settings.

Went to dinner with the family here and the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the Biryani Yak(rice), Lamb Nepali Set, and Yak Momo(dumplings) with everything exceeding our expectations. The prices were reasonable with how much food they give you and the service takes care of you here.

A Hidden Gem with Incredible Flavors
This restaurant charms with its simple, unpretentious decor and plenty of seating
—both indoors and outdoors. But the real star? The unbelievably delicious food and excellent service. I loved it so much that I dragged my friend back the very next day!
Every dish we tried was flavorful, generously portioned, and fairly priced – absolutely deserving of a 5-star rating. Rice bread ring and a small dish of chutney were served to every table.

What We Ordered:
4.5*CRISPY KALE – crunchy and seasoned.

5*GOAT CURRY – Rich, tender, and packed with flavors. Must order

4.8*ROASTED YAK – A must-try, uniquely gamey yet tender. The first bite wasn’t that tasty, then it grew on us, the last few pieces were very tasty and tender.

5*NEPALI SET MEAL (with goat) – A fantastic sampler of authentic flavors. Must order

5* WILD BOAR – Bold and succulent. Must order

We’ll definitely be back soon-this place is too good to resist!

Found this place walking around exploring. The food was good and it actually wasn’t overpriced. Had an Indian cuisine feel to it, rice, cubed meats. Chicken curry and roasted yak was good. I recommend the pork belly and wild bore appetizers. Those two dishes were great.

If you’re looking for a true hidden gem in the DMV area, Himalayan Yak in Arlington is it! This place delivers authentic flavors straight from Nepal with a cozy, welcoming vibe.

The Old Fashioned smokey whiskey was perfection — smooth, bold, and with just the right amount of smokiness to set the tone for the night. For food, the wild boar and goat sukuti stole the show. The wild boar was tender and flavorful with a rich, gamey taste that you can’t find just anywhere.

It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines authenticity, warmth, and unforgettable flavors all in one spot, but Himalayan Yak absolutely nails it. Highly recommend for anyone craving something unique and truly delicious.

Absolutely loved my experience at Himalayan Wild Yak! The flavors were authentic, bold, and comforting—exactly what you’d hope for in Nepalese and Tibetan cuisine. The momo dumplings were juicy and flavorful, and the yak chili was a standout—spicy, savory, and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt cozy yet modern. A hidden gem in Arlington for anyone craving something unique and delicious. Highly recommend!
