My wife and I have been talking about trying The New American Bistro for dinner for quite some time, and tonight was the night! For starters, I thoroughly enjoyed the squash soup and the fresh house-made bread. For dinner, the Filet Diane was incredible! Save room for dessert! The tiramisu and crème brûlée were fantastic. We are looking forward to coming back soon!

This is always my favorite restaurant. It is consistently amazing. We attended last night. We were a group of 11. Every meal was excellent. Our server was on point! The owner made us all feel like we were VIP’s. The menu and specials are always unique. The prices are so reasonable. We’ve never had a bad experience or a bad meal here. We will be back soon.

Ordered takeout and it was out of this world as always. When I called they were super busy and I let them know I will wait if Chef can accommodate and I provided my order. Let them know I’m right down the street and just need a 5 minute notice and they would call back when it wasn’t busy – they called me back in less than 30 minutes and said ready in 10 minutes.
I love the fact that if they are too busy and can’t accommodate at that time they’re honest. It’s a small family business the Mom is the host and probably one of my favorites she is like old school south Philly meets Mother Theresa!
The chef is a perfectionist and I always try at least one special and have never regretted it. I am utterly amazed each time at the dishes he comes up with.
Overall price wise they cannot be beat, huge portions and every bite was heavenly.
Where can you get this much fresh, delicious food for under $100 no where except New American Bistro. It’s also extremely rare to get take out and it be as good as served in the restaurant.
The beet with pistachio encrusted goat cheese salad with raspberry dressing. This salad had it all! Everything was so fresh and crisp. There were so many bursts of flavor.
This was a special hopefully it will be added to the menu.

Blackened Scallops with Raviolis and Lobster Sauce – we always order. Appetizer size comes with 4 blackened scallops and a couple ravioli.

Maryland crab cake with Ravioli and pesto sauce. This was my first time trying and typically does not get pesto dishes. This had so much flavor and was refreshing if that makes any sense. Appetizer size comes with a very large crab cake and a couple ravioli.

Gnocchi’s with Jumbo Lump Crabmeat and Gorgonzola Sauce- this is my absolute favorite dish. The Gorgonzola sauce you could drink. I dip the homemade bread in the sauce after. It’s my favorite. I’m a huge Gorgonzola fan I put it on everything. The Gorgonzola sauce on this particular dish I find to be mild and perfection. I just woke up thinking of this dish it is so unbelievably good.

Excellent food, great rotating and seasonal menus. The New American Bistro has always been very busy when we’ve gone, so a reservation is suggested. We really enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere at New American Bistro – it’s a DELCO gem!

Amazing place! Everything was delicious. Today was our first time there. I had scallops and shrimp risotto and my husband had 8oz filet mignon with peppercorn sauce. For dessert I had strawberry shortcake. Definitely coming back more times!

This is a small comfortable establishment on Morton Ave. First visit a couple of years ago was spot on with an easy 5 rating. This current visit missed the mark because most people ordered italian and the red sauce was bitter. I was the lucky one with a seafood special but the mood of the entire party was deflated a bit.
Final thoughts, my guess is that a ingredient to nuetralize the bitterness was missing from the sauce.

This place was AMAZING. I’ve been waiting for months to go and finally had the chance and it was well worth the wait. The wait time was a little long before our waiter came, but he was the only one on the floor and was doing a fantastic job. We got there around 6:45 but it was well worth the wait for the food. The portions were great, the taste was amazing it is a little pricey but I can’t stress this enough- it’s worth it. It felt like a homely atmosphere. Best little resturant in delco!!!!!!!!
