Hot Basil is an excellent Thai restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, friendly service, and incredible flavors.
We tried the green pork curry, perfectly spicy and creamy; the pineapple chicken with rice, sweet and tropical; and the coconut soup with a spicy “pikkk” kick, rich and comforting.
Everything was beautifully served and full of authentic flavor. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

A fabulous gem in West Hartford. The food was delicious, packed with flavor in every bite. The crispy chicken wings and spring rolls were amazing, perfectly cooked and full of yumminess. Drunken Noodles were the best I have ever tasted. The cashew chicken stir fry was satisfying and delicious. Mango sticky rice was the perfect ending to on outstanding meal.

My friend suggested this place for lunch about a month back and it’s pricey but I would go back, preferably to dine in the next time. Since it was our first time we ordered a few things to share on the go. Beef satay which was good with a nice kick of flavor. There were between 5 or 6 of them and they were a good size. The shrimp dumplings and the vegetable dumplings were fresh and good and my friend preferred them more than I did but I’m not a dumpling person. I did try the vegetable dumplings and I did like them because the filling was awesome and had a nice crunch to them. For an entree we had the Hot Basil stir fry with beef, magnificent flavor, freshness, and seasonings. Nice kick of heat without being over powering. I would reorder that in a heartbeat.

Hot Basil has been a standby Thai Restaurant on New Park Ave for many years now. I had not visited this eatery for quite some time. I was greeted by some happy young girls who were learning the ropes. I ordered a common Thom Khar soup with chicken and Pad Thai for a main dish. The soup was not as rich in coconut as some, but had the lovely flavor and aroma with lemongrass.
The pad Thai was a generous portion and very flavorful.
Any time one has the craving for some good Thai food, this is the place to go.

Got take out, it was great. They have a whole separate vegan menu. I got Drunken Noodles with Steamed Tofu. Nice cozy place for a date, great atmosphere, friendly staff. I’ll definitely be back, try more and will follow up here.

Best pad Thai I’ve had in CT. Great option if you’re in the mood for Thai food. Crab Rangoons are solid too. Overall the food is great, but there’s a spice/vegetable that is in a few things that I could do without (tastes like spicy licorice). The price is a bit high too, but that may just be a function of inflation…

I’m no stranger to Thai food. It’s hot, it’s sweet, it’s sour and complex. But Hot Basil is one of the few places that gets it right! I came here today with my mom because I wanted something that would properly clear out my sinuses. The first thing that struck me was the decor. There were plants everywhere! Due to this, the air in the restaurant was crisp and fresh, and I didn’t realize how much I appreciated that until I left. The place was cozy but not cramped at all and I enjoyed the quiet buzz of conversation from the other patrons. My mum got the Thai iced tea and it was yummy and fresh. We got the chicken satay for an app and the peanut sauce that it comes with is nothing short of f&$king delicious. The lunch combo comes with soup and spring rolls. I opted for the tom yum chicken soup, which was hot, sour, and loaded with fresh veggies and tender morsels of chicken. I ordered the drunken noodles with pork, and holy hot sauce, it was packed with flavor. You could tell that the veggies were fresh and that everything is hand selected. My meal was about $15 after everything was said and done. I’m definitely coming back

My food did not make it home! I enjoyed it to the fullest. I’m glad I did not listen to some of these reviews. I am satisfied! Inside was clean and cute. The girl who took my order was friendly and patient with me.

Came here based on reviews. Ordered the chicken drunken noodles for lunch. Food was ready on time. Staff was friendly. Food was ok. It lacked flavor/sauce. Overall bland in my opinion. When it comes to drunken noodles this place does not deliver. Lunch portion comes with noodles only. Unlike other place who give you soup/salad or spring roll.
