I ordered a Stew/ Potaje; normally this is a rich soup with vegetables and meat , this was expected and even more so since it was stated clearly in the description this way , but instead I received plain black beans. I called the store to see if there was just a mix up but turns out this is what they send out as “potaje/stew” , just plain black beans this however is not what was in their description or what the dish normally is at all , if i wanted plain black beans i would have ordered that since it is also in their menu. When I called they told me this is what they dish out for potaje and that they didn’t know how they could help me, they did not even bother to resend a actual soup with what was described in their stew i was just left with plain black beans and told to call back the next day if i wanted to speak with a manager.. very bad customer service especially when their food is not what is as describe and i payed for something completed different

I can’t speak for the other items on the menu but the Cuban sandwich and cafe con leche is the best here. The only thing is the place is definitely run down, they will not take your orders in English, none of the servers speak English either. I have never had a better tasting Cuban sandwich than this place and it’s open very late too.

I called 3 times and she hung up in my face and wouldn’t take my order because I didn’t speak Spanish. Weird and racist!! We’re in America, u have to learn to accommodate for American speakers.

The menu tells you one price when you get the bill it’s completely different and it’s not itemized I order two number 1. breakfast meals $30 not what the menu says ,when I question the waitress, she said the tip was included again. This bill was not itemized. We will never eat here again.

Fantastic place to stop for a quick Cuban coffee, pastelitos, shakes, or anything that you crave in between study breaks or work breaks. There is also an indoor seating area if you want more than the outside bar experience and if you got more time, but really the experience is eating at the Esquinita (“Corner”).
