The food and most of the staff we’re great. One of the staff started a debate about Mexican and New Mexican foods not served. No potatos in NM ? What and Perea family being the oldest in the state. We all have roots girl but learn your facts. You do serve Mexican here, flan is Mexican. But became an argument not a place for this made the meal less enjoyable to bad.

From the outside you wouldn’t be impressed but once you get inside you realize it’s nostalgia. If the walls could talk! The service is impeccable and the Green Chili Chicken Casserole was to die for. I would say it’s only negative is the food is a bit light on seasoning. From seeing all the senior customers I can tell it’s right up their alley. If you want a drink you found the right place. Large selection of liquor items. Peaceful Wednesday breakfast! Thank you Perea’s!

My favorite bar in New Mexico. Simple menu with great Mexican food that incorporates hatch chiles whenever possible. Definitely try a sopaipilla or five. And a very knowledgeable proprietor behind the bar who can guide any customers interested in the more rare distilled spirits and delicious libations.

We happened upon Peres’s one Saturday last autumn , and their menu was a perfect example of selections that can be made for vegans, vegetarians or meat eaters. Jack had Posole made only with vegan ingredients and I had a classic potato stew. At the top of the menu they say the entrees can be vegetarian, chicken or beef. The restaurant itself was cozy and had a bar plus outdoor eating area. The food was delicious, not too oily and sizable potions. Additional note: the restroom was designed with antique cabinets and decor suitable for this historic building.

This place holds a special place in my heart. A Corrales staple with a lot of history. You’re sure to see the same smiling faces everytime you come here. This is THE PLACE to find a great bottle of wine and/or a cocktail. Sit down, relax, have something to eat and hide away. You’ll feel like family when you’re here, and have a taste of what Corrales is truly all about.

I have to say I’m really disappointed with my experience. Don’t get me wrong, the staff is very friendly and the locale is quite beautiful with a great atmosphere, but for some reason our food wasn’t seasoned at all. The Posole was made without salt or garlic, the meat for the Taco Plate was bland and compacted, the Nachos seemed to be microwaved with generic shredded yellow cheese on top, the guacamole had no lime juice, salt or garlic either. I was impressed with the bars’ selection of spirits and wine, but our Margaritas were soo sweet it was almost a deterrent.
I’m not sure if the kitchen needs to re-work the recipes or if they simply need to taste their food before it goes out, but I’m left hungry and wishing I went somewhere else. I hope the staff receives this and is able to reassess their current game plan.

This was a great find. The food was vegetarian and very clean. The posole I had a great flavor and the vegetable stew that had a great flavor as well!
The building it is in was built in the 1800 and the same family has owned and ran the establishment for 80 years!
Highly recommended!!

Great! As usual! Have been going there over 10 years, the last time we thought perhaps not often enough. That will change.
We’ll be back!
