Joe’s Pizza was started by Napolitano immigrants GIUSEPPE & ANNUNZIATA COLELLA in 1967. Specializing in Italian cuisine and the idea of family is the most important part of life. Annunziata & Giuseppe’s son Lorenzo Colella now continues their traditions in the pizzeria everyday.

Went to pick up food on day before Thanksgiving. Staff were working at top speed and so busy, but still produced great pasta, wings, and pies. We ate next day on Thanksgiving. I put an egg on the truffle slice. Damn.

I live in Las Vegas but I’m visiting family in CT and was told I had to try Joe’s Detroit style pizza. We got it with pepperoni and tomatoes and it was phenomenal! Easily one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had including many many places here in CT. Crust was light and buttery, pepperoni was extra crispy and the sauce was just perfect. Highly recommend and can’t wait to get it again before I leave. (May even move back to CT to get it once a week…)

The pizza is OK if you can get one fresh from the oven. I get skeptical when a place opens and they already have partial pizzas sitting out ready to serve. (Yesterday’s anyone?) The lack of customer service doesn’t help this place. However, the pizza is tasty if you don’t mind the service and you get a slice in the middle of the day.

Simply put, Joe’s has the best pizza outside of New Haven and he certainly rivals even the best places in New Haven as well. We all know there’s two things that make a good pizza, dough and sauce, and Joe’s has both nailed down tight! My other big favorite is grandma‘s meatballs, they have an extraordinary flavor. It’s obvious that they take an unmatched pride in their work. The staff is always kind and attentive. I actually like it when I’ve got a few minutes to wait when I’m picking up on a busy Friday, watching the crew is interesting as they run like a finally tuned machine and do their best to get everybody taken care of in a timely manner. Highly highly recommend I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Terrible owner. I’m a delivery person and I walk in there asking for the order I’m picking up. This guy gets out of his chair in the corner and starts going off about how my delivery company sends people out way too early and starts practically shouting. He then tells his staff to wait 45 minutes before making my order. All of this before I even say a word to the guy. Rest assured I called support and they cancelled the order. I hope this guy gets taken off delivery apps. Do NOT support this jerk.

First off, it’s a family run business. Secondly, the front door has every sticker you can think of, very creative way to show who goes to this restaurant, from across the nation. The food here, is superb! I always order via Uber eats pickup, and I always get the grandma pizza. Great selection of toppings! I will say it is a bit expensive, but you get the best pizza in new Canaan! The employees there are super polite and very kind, and the wait time is not as long, and you could walk around town to wait for your food! I have come here multiple times always getting the grandma’s pizza and also switching it up by adding some wings. Great food, and great experience here. Highly recommend it, family friendly, great location, and great service.
