A FIVE-STAR stop at Curtsy’s Cafe & Burger Bar in the revitalized, bustling, and walkable historic downtown of Franklinton, just a short drive from Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill. Our late lunch for consisted of one ‘Mushing Love Burger’ (a juicy patty, Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and Dijon Mayo), and
‘The Hawaiian Burger’, including a beef patty, Pepper Jack cheese, bacon, grilled pineapple, slaw, crunchy fried onions, teriyaki glaze, and mayonnaise. A super combination of sweet and savory flavors! Chips and fried potatoes on the side with cappuccino and ice water. Kid-friendly with a designated play area inside the dining area (see photo). Curtsy’s is located across the street from the historic Franklinton Middle School, built in 1923, a gift from Sterling Cotton Mill founder Samuel C. Vann. (see photos). Originally housing all grades, it transitioned to a middle school in 2013. The historic downtown building remains a focal point of the community. Downtown Franklinton is transforming from a quiet, “abandoned” area, to a bustling, walkable Raleigh burb with a good vibe. The revitalization is driven heavily by public-private partnerships, focusing on restoring historic Main Street buildings into a mix of boutique retail, restaurants, and entertainment options. Check it out!

Great little place for coffee or breakfast or lunch. We had lunch on New Year’s Day, the service was good and the food was delicious. I asked for my wrap without ranch dressing but I think they put it on, but luckily they didn’t overdo it. It was really good, and my husband had a burger which was also really good. But you have some healthy options which is great, especially if you are vegetarian or trying to eat healthy. Lots of unhealthy stuff to enjoy though! They have breakfast sandwiches, waffles, eggs, burgers, sandwiches, hotdog, drinks, coffee, tea, donuts, muffins. They also have fruit and pasta salad as alternatives or side dishes. The place is clean and has a nice vibe.

The burgers are the best I’ve had in the Raleigh area and the space is beautiful! I had the classic and my wife had the jalapeno cream cheese and both were amazing! For sides I had a cup of chili which is a meaty hot dog chili which had great spices and was super flavorful. My wife had the pasta salad which was better than home made. I can’t wait to go back!

I dont normally hand out 5 stars but this place definitely deserved it! Walking in we were met with overly friendly and helpful staff, along with a large and charming atmosphere. We ordered the French Dip sandwich with homemade pasta salad, chicken salad wrap with hash browns, a side of watermelon, iced coffee and a Raspberry/Lemonade Mimosa. ALL were extremely delicious, came out very quickly and were reasonably priced. We will definitely be back to try the burgers and half priced wine Weds! Special shout out to Mikayla (spell?) and her wonderful service and energy.

Their smash burger menu is insane. Breakfast is always on point. Great people also.
Edit: Novembers burger of the month is the Gobbler and you have to try it! Smash burger with a slice of turkey, stuffing, and cranberry aioli, and top it all off with gravy for dipping.

I’m coming from N. Raleigh and this place is amazing! I love the historic feel and they treat you like you are FAMILY! They greet you and such. I love their food, and COFFEE. Best in Franklinton. I’m always about supporting local businesses. Make sure to get there early it can get busy.

Still as delicious as ever! I got the Frankenburger, wall-to-wall flavor. The bacon was cooked perfectly, nice and crispy without being overdone. Same with the egg, perfectly cooked. This is a great burger!
To start, the staff is friendly and welcoming. They were very attentive and answered any questions we had.
The food is delicious. My wife got the Chicken Salad Sandwich on a croissant. The sandwich was very flavorful. I ordered the Hawaiian Burger with a side of Mac-n-Cheese. Our server suggested adding jalapenos to the burger, which was a great recommendation. The tangy/spiciness of the jalapenos added great flavor and contrast to pineapple and bacon. The Mac-n-Cheese was creamy and delicious.
The atmosphere at the restaurant was very nice. Send like a place the locals meet up after church on Sunday.
I really like that there’s an overlap between the breakfast menu and the lunch menu. If one person wants breakfast and someone else wants lunch, both will be happy here…
As I mentioned at the beginning, we’ll be coming back to try more items on the menu!

I wish this would let me add the picture I took this morning. I had the breakfast tots. Tater tots with cheese, sausage gravy, bacon, and sunny side up egg. I believe it is new, but it was everything I wanted it to be. Crunchy, saucy, cheese, creamy, PERFECTION. Talk about craveable!!! Out-freaking-standing!! I have never had anything bad there but I will be thinking about this until I can have it again.

Tasty smash burgers with good variety. Walk up ordering and many drink options. A little hard to see the choices. Desserts were tempting too!

The breakfast sandwiches were outstanding! Got my breakfast to go and everything was hot and fresh when I got it home. Praying they will eventually add omelets to their regular breakfast lineup. Highly recommend!
