Runza Restaurants Serving real food requires a real commitment. It all begins bright and early each morning. Instead of serving breakfast, we’re making homemade bread dough from scratch. We’re hand-slicing onions. We’re shredding lettuce for our salads. We’re stirring up homemade chili and fresh ground beef filling for Runza® Sandwiches. It’s a labor-intensive process that doesn’t let up until long after closing time. We know there are easier ways to do all this, but our commitment to doing things the right way is as real as our food, and that’s not something we’re going to change.

After years of driving past various Runza locations I decided that today was the day for a visit. Ordered onion rings because they are advertised on the side of the restaurant and they are something I always order. I have to say they were pretty good. Onion rings are generally hit or miss but these ones were, while not perfect, were pretty darn good. I found the coating to be of a nice consistency. Not too crunchy and certainly not soggy. Just the way I like them. The flavor was quite delicate. That is to say the flavor made me eat slowly and really concentrate on what I was tasting. What I did taste was quite pleasant. Definitely understated but delicious none the less. The real star was the onions themselves. They were mild, flavorful and had just the right amount of “pop” when I bite into them. Further, the onion to batter ratio was perfect. While these are not the absolute best onion rings I’ve ever had, they are miles better than the vast majority of other fast food offerings. I would definitely order them again.

This is a nice Runza! We actually arrived when they were not quite open yet and the gentlemen was happy to serve us. He explained that the door was actually open because they had a family traveling through. They were already kind enough to open for this particular family so I thought that was really nice that he let us come in too! Frings are always hot and fresh! My daughter and I got cheeseburger meals and the buns seemed old maybe? It tasted toasted and stale. But great service and most times I get some specialty burger like Swiss and mushroom and I don’t have an issue with the bun. Overall good and glad the option is available out there!

You don’t even have to go for the Runza, their Swiss cheese mushroom burger is my go-to, and now with frings you can get their crinkle-cut fries with their onion rings if you can’t decide on one over the other.

Just stopped for burgers in Geneva NE at 9:30 pm Dec 11 and we were given cold cheese burgers. Didnt realize till driving down the highway . Usually they’re really good. Cheese was cold, bun seemed like it had been in frig, burger had a hint of warmth to it?

On 27-SEP-25 I ordered a spicy jack burger combo, rings, lemonade no ice. Lemonade had ice, no biggie. My burger was cold. The cheese, not even pepper jack, wasn’t melted. The bun was cold, the meat was cold. A few of my rings were stuck inside larger rings and weren’t cooked all the way through and were cold.

First negative experience at a Runza. The runza had all the meat on one end. That meant one end was all bread and the other had so much meat and juice that it just disintegrated. I requested a new one and same thing. Ordered Frings. Got three onion rings. Fries and rings both cold. Onions inside the rings were crunchy and not fully cooked. I normally like the rings. Runza doesn’t cook them until mushy. There is a bite to them. That’s a good thing. These were crunchy.

My cheeseburger was completely cold. I only got maybe half of an order of French fries. I spent almost $12 for my food that was awful and I ended up throwing away the cheeseburger because it was cold and gross.
