We got the haemul pajeon (seafood pancake), yangnum galbi (marinated short rib), and samgyupsal (pork belly original cut).
– The seafood pancake (4.5) was crispy but it fell apart easily. You definitely have to bring your bowl closer, so the pancake doesn’t spill onto the table. There was a lot of seafood inside and it was delicious.
– The marinated short rib (2.5) was not worth the $43. There wasn’t a lot of meat for the price and the meat we did have was kind of fatty. Marinated short rib is better at ayce kbbq places because you actually do get a lot of meat.
– The pork belly (4) was fine. I like to have mine on the crispy side. Price was right for that one.
We also got the gyeran -jjim (steamed egg dish) and chadol doenjang-jjigae (soup). This came with our meats. Those were very enjoyable.
The service was excellent! The meat was very fresh! We did the 3 set meals plus cold spicy buckwheat noodle plus pajeon.
The restaurant is a year new so the decor is extremely clean, this is very important for k.bbq. The exhaust fan above each grill also helps as well as the amazing staff’s attention to change out the used grill plate.
We opted not to do any bbq since we didn’t want to deal with our toddler trying to touch the raw meat or hot surfaces, but I look forward to another trip when my husband and I can try that without our kids!
Everything was absolutely delicious and we thought the value for what we paid was excellent. My daughter actually commented on how good the food was, which is a rarity for her when at a restaurant. She even asked to have some of my side salad, which had gochujang sauce on it, and said it was good. Everything was incredibly flavorful and the meat was tender. The complimentary cold side dishes were tasty as well.
The atmosphere was just the right balance of nice and unfussy, and was very clean and well-kept. Not to mention, you are greeted with absolutely heavenly food smells upon entering.
Out of the roughly 5 tables that were occupied during our visit, it seemed we were the only party that was entirely non-Korean, which I like to think speaks to the quality and authenticity of the food. I will absolutely be back as soon as I’m able to enjoy the bbq and some other dishes, and look forward to introducing friends & family to this restaurant they may otherwise overlook!
We want to recognize Diana for being very patient, hospitable, professional, and helpful. She also did an excellent job in explaining what types of dishes and meats they offered. We cannot wait to go back again! 5 stars across the board for Jin Soo!
We had the sampler to try a little bit of everything plus the seafood pancake. Servers were patient and helpful with how to cook the food properly.
Next time we’d know what to order!
