My brother & I order breakfast from here all the time. This time I decided to treat myself and order strawberry French toast with chicken sausage.I specifically stated that I wanted my eggs scrambled hard. In return,I received watery, wiggly, jiggly, shuckin’ & jivin’ eggs! We can do so much better. Not to mention, when I arrived home, my food was cold. We gots to be more careful! Do not order your food through Uber Eats. They won’t advocate for food that is undercooked. Nor will they refund you.

I ate here today from the time you walk in you are greeted, and then welcome by everyone else there so welcoming and warm, I was helped by all the servers not just mine I sat at the counter I had the steak and eggs only downside my food wasn’t hot but Luke warm the grits was tasty tho and my over medium egg was a lil too hard but overall I had a good breakfast I will return to try other things on the menu tho

This was my 1st time here. First times leave a lasting impression, which is why it’s important to always make the 1st impression the best impression. The atmosphere & vibe were friendly & cozy. The food was delicious. However, the customer service was not up to par. Melissa M. was my server. I sat at the bar. She asked what I wanted to eat, but didn’t bring silverware or napkins. I had to ask another server for napkins. And I had to ask her for silverware when she brought me my food. Not long after I sat down an elderly man came in & sat close to me. She provided him w/ napkins & silverware. She was attentive to him, but not me. She even asked him how was everything, but didn’t ask me nor come to check on me the entire stay. I sat there for about 30 min before getting a to-go box to take my leftovers home. She also was on her phone, which is very unprofessional.

My mom and stepfather have went here for years and this last visit was definitely their last. They ordered the regular eggs, grits, protein with a side of short stack pancakes. As my stepfather was about to cut into it, he took the liberty of separating them first and found A ROACH in between them. That completely ruined their appetite and nothing could bring them to go back. I felt this should be known.

Sorry, I don’t have pictures I was really hungry lbs. finally a local place where you get exactly what you ask for. I ordered the waffles, scrambled soft eggs, and links. The waffles were soft and fluffy. My eggs were cooked exactly like I asked, and the links were flavorful. I would highly recommend coming here.

It was really good a very down home service. Ice tea was the bomb taste like grandma was in the kitchen. Customer service was beautiful the vibes was warm and relaxing. It was clean me n my family enjoyed our first time there. They made sure the customers was satisfied with they service il go plenty more time also the French was good as well only thing the sausage to me should have been the bob Evans style meat but other then that everything was perfect to me

I felt welcomed as soon as I walked in the restaurant. We sat down at a table, given a menu and ordered our food!! It feels good going to a restaurant close to home! The food was fresh and tasted very good! The service was excellent from the young lady that welcomed us in, our waitress and the young man who checked on us sporadically.

This is just what a classic restaurant should be. Step inside and be transported back to the 1960’s with the classic decor. The food was absolutely fantastic! I had one of the specials, Catfish & Spaghetti with Chicken & Rice soup.
First off the soup. It was very tasty with large pieces of chicken inside. It is definitely made in house.
Then the main course. The star of the show. The catfish. A massive fillet which was fresh and tasted great. It was covered in a thin but very flavorful cornmeal breading. It was not greasy, everything was prepared well.
It was served with a heaping bowl of spaghetti topped with a very flavorful sauce that had to be a home recipe again.
The place was very busy, it is clearly the local neighborhood spot.
The service was quick and all the staff were extremely friendly. And check out the burlwood counter!
This may be become my go to place on the South Side. It’s worth the trip.

This is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast. The food is good. The atmosphere is pleasant. The staff is friendly. I normally get Melissa as my waitress and she’s the best! She’s also one of the cashiers. Melissa always greet you with her million dollar smile. I make sure to tip her too! She deserves it.

Don’t expect much as far as appearances in here but the food was quick and hot. Salmon croquettes were tasty. They had like a hush puppy batter situation going on. The pancakes are big, fluffy, and above average. Staff was polite. Definitely a reliable local breakfast spot w absolutely no frills!
